Well, I have the truck dropped about a total of 6" now. I used the air ride in front and just dropped the rear with spring mods and QA1 shocks front and rear. After we get the alignment done we'll see if the top end goes up and how much, we're guessing at least 20 MPH on the top end at the end of the mile track, which will put us up to 164mph, we'll see.

so the front is adjustable!?!?

what did you do to get the air ride to work with our spindles? why not go all the way and put the air ride on the back?

LOOKS AWSOME!

Looks great!!!

I noticed you don't have the stock wheels anymore, can you still use em?

Oh, and what's the red thing on the lower grille?

Thanks. The red thing in the front is where my tow hook is. In some pits, you are not allowed to drive thru them, this way my cart can pull the truck. Also, when loading the truck on the trailer, it makes it easier to tow it up with the winch. The airride is only on the front because unlike a show truck, I only cared to make the front adjustable, the rear can remain static since it rides at about the best height with just a aspring mod and blocks, plus it costs less. The a-arms on the 06 truck are from the stock 1500 truck, unlike the older SRT-10s that use special arms. So the airride kits that are out there for stock 1500 trucks will work on our trucks. Air ride makes all kinds of kits.

Being that your going for top speed here, how come you changed the wing? I would think thats when DC's windtunnel testing would really come into play.......ie, is your setup better than the stock wing?

And your truck looks quite awesome too!!!!

That's SWEEEET!!!!!

I'm sure the "Daytona" wing has a little more downforce than the stock wing (45lbs ? )..... But, would a custom wing do better? :dontknow: Like something that the new NASCAR vehicles use?

And it looks like you went with 20" wheels.... Is that so you could get a better tire under the truck?

Nice looking setup... You going for the record makes you do these changes... You are doing it with style and your truck is getting sweeter and sweeter as you go!

Keep us up to date!

Very nice...and even better is the changes you've made are for a reason...not just show! Go get us some records :burnout:

The wing is not so much for downforce as it is for side force. We found from our last tests that the wing helps keep the truck straight. It is not really all that good for downforce, in fact it might even hurt, but it does help stabilize the truck at speed. Plus, for production class, you can only run wings that are production style, not aftermarket. The rims are 22". They are Boyd's Furys. They are 8.5" in front and 9.5" in rear. So, I felt the Daytona wing worked better than the stock one. I'll post more pictures after we finish cutting out the old shock mounts and finish the new mounts on Tuesday. I'll also take pictures of the rear end set-up. It's going to Roe's shop on Wednesday or Thursday for Dyno tuning and then to the roll bar shop, last thing to do then it will be test time again.

They are 22" still. Pictures suck, too much shadow, sorry.
thks, I was ? that cause mine is lowered 2/4 now and I have about the same free space between the wheel and fender but your looks much lower to the ground. Detail pic's of the air system would be great. thks ! cool mod. I hope it still drive comfortable on reguler roads.
