DROPTAIL???

Looks like more show than go to me.:bird: I would hate to have that little actuator break off over a bump in the road. :stupido2:

It's not a gimmick. It does actually work.
The Droptail is more for track racing than regular daily driving. You'll see and feel better results at Laguna Seca than you will on Elm Street. :)

Also, Droptail is (was?) a member here. Nice guy.

Looks pretty cool, here is the video of it --> Link

I think it would freak some people out who were riding behind you.

its my next mod! not for the performance so to speak but for the "hey thats cool factor"

the only thing the drop tail is going to do for you is increase drag.. so if thats what you are looking for im sure it does a great job... with the tail gate up there is a vortex created in the bed of the truck when that gate goes d own the vortex is lost and then the air drag is increased by catching the tailgate ... so yes if you are looking to increase drag this is deff the way to go

ya ive watched the videos ... but there have been tests done tail gate up tail gate down... tailgate down causes drag... they took 2 identical veichels same year same milage same gass , same weight in veichel same speed traveld untill empty .. the tail gate down ran out of fuel 32 miles before the tailgate up veichel... i dont know in my book that is causing drag...

Driving with the tailgate down actually increased drag on the pick-up and caused it to consume fuel faster than the identical truck driven with the tailgate up. It was later revealed that the closed tailgate creates a locked vortex flow that created a smoother flow of air over the truck. With the tailgate down, the trapped vortex was dissipated and the drag increased.

Isn't that from a Mythbusters episode?

You need to remember that the wing/spoiler on the SRT-10 works WITH the airflow/vortex in the bed.
It's not an F-150 with a heater and a key.

BTW- the link for "locked vortex flow" is broken. 404, my friend.

All the pictures of there adds on there website show it working with veichels with no wing claiming increased performance... i dont know man but it looks like they are trying to sell something and they dont really know how it works , so they make up facts and present them on the internet and as we all know anything on the internet must be true... :)
.. ie i like the L with the shoot behind shoing the gate dragging it down.. if they only knew the actual effects of this.. ..
