DYNO RESULTS TODAY with Video

I really dislike dyno's in the fact that a lot of people think that actually tells them what there HP is. To me it is really just a tool to measure performance gains and losses. I can go to 100 different dynos and probably get a wide range of HP #'s without changing my truck at all.

I have similiar mods as you and I pulled 417/461 but there is a chance that we are a lot closer and the dynos (mine or yours) are off.

Then again some trucks appear to be stronger coming off the assembly line. It is really all just a crap shoot.

I look at my dyno as a baseline only. When I add mods I will take it back to see what I gained or loss (hopefully no losses).

Just my opinion...

THAT would be the Nike method, he told me what to do-but after that i just said you do it, so i didnt screw it up :)

well this was my first dyno and here are the results with some video- i hope the video works. let me know.
my peak HP= 391.51 at 5300 rpm
my max trq=400.23 at 4350 rpm and 4825 rpm

Numbers seem a bit low to me if truck is stock.

If you Dyno'd with the mods in your sig, then the numbers seem REAL low to me!

Then again, I have limited use for dyno's to begin with. Hit up the 1/4 mile and get some timeslips. Much better measure of performance IMO.

whats real low mean? i was expecting between 385 and 405 so i not concerned- i am taking it with a grain of salt and a baseline for now :)

Well just use this as an example his numbers are more typical of what we've seen...

thats some good numbers but are mods are kinda the same so something is up- like i said this a baseline and have knowledge now for my next run. those numbers actually seem high- don't get me wrong they are great- the discrepancy is pretty big though

Using the "Nike Method" he probably didn't get you into the proper gear (3rd) for the test.
On the video it just sounds like he got it to 30-40 mph, then floored it.

High tech.

hey K ....he is a qc....3rd is his 1:1 gear.....not 4th.....

hey frozen......

from your 23 threads you have started....:D ....it is clear that you want to mod your truck up a bit....don't make the same mistakes that we (the 2000 guys who have done this already) have made....

pick a $$ you are comfortable with....post it up and we can help...

from a $8,000 head/cam NA build to a $40k twin turbo....

don't waste anymore money on "little" mods until you have the big picture figured out...

I'm kinda curious: Did Liam Neeson or Bono hold your hand while you got your tattoo?
:D

How did you get the pink ink in yours to last 25 years?...given that you never wear a shirt I thought it would have faded...?:D

My first dyno on a semi-stock truck (cai and magnaflow) was around 380ish.
