hey guys read this article about this new locker carrier that uses no clutches and can put up to some abuse. .I remember that the issue we had about putting a locker in our dana 60 was that we had c-clip axles..According to this article this unit works with c-clip axles..I did some further searches and read that lightings and mustangs have been using this unit...MAybe stinker could look into this..

I know I can get the true trac in the new alxe set up, mmmmmmmtrqe was asking, they are rated for 950hp.

I remember asking if they would fit our stock axles, I will have to call and ask again to be sure, thanks bro:rock:

if you are going to be drag racing you want to lose the c-clips anyway....just for safety....

Thanks stinker, plz look into this..I would luv to just get that axle you have built for us but frankly,,,I dont have the money to buy that, or the power to even justify it:eek: If this unit would fit our stock axle, that would be tits! I cant stand my peg leg burnouts any more:D

Yeah but havent you put like over 50 runs on your stock axle? That seems durable enough to me:confused:

Thats a gear type posi by the sounds of it. It is similar to what is come in the rear of the heavy duty Dodge trucks. My dually has a factory one and it really ain't worth a crap. Lots of time you are a one wheel wonder in the snow.

Doesn't look like you would have access to the C-Clips to me.

Looks to be another spinoff of the Dual Drive setup that has been around since the 60's and you are right Silver, does not appear to have access to
C-clips.....................And...............They were Junk then!!!!

The Detroit is noisey around corners, but, has a very good track record.

For those running a stock limited slip, try using 2 bottles of friction modifier,
it reduces wear to the clutch plates and slows down the fishtailing effect.

my .03 cents:D

Hey raminator was that your truck at the Mopar Nationals. That was nice Bro.

As Jerry said the picture looks like like the Torsen/Gleason type carrier.

They are good for lower power and lighter vehicles. A lot of the dirt track guys used them in the past, but with lower power and they were a high maintenance item.

I don't believe they will work with C clip axles.

If a C clip axle breakes the axle can walk out of the rear housing. This axle walk will probably not happen with our trucks as the rear caliper and disk will retain the axle if the axle breakes.

The real fix for traction is a, SPOOL

Well I just want an option that;

That is not pricey...less than $600 i believe

Will allow me to lay down 2 fat lines of rubber

I dont really go to the track much, but if i did this would be a nice advantage.

IF i had the money and the power to justify it, I would get the dts axle.

However at this point, my miles are @30k...This carrier would offer stronger

spider gears which is the main failure in our axles. I just want to do some

"preventative maintence" before somethin breaks and damages more things.

I'm aware that c-clip axles have the potential to break, but if nowwhat has

50 plus runs on his 700 hp QC...I dont think i have to worry about anything
