For those of you that have installed one, what brand did you purchase? What size? Did you get the adjustable temperature switch thingy?

Did you install it outside of the condenser thingy? Or in between the consenser thingy and the radiator?

Also, could a regular schmo like me install it with good tools and mediocre common sense?

Thanks a million.

First I went to Autozone and bought their electric fan its a torqflo or something like that 16" I believe.

Then I went to a local performance shop and bought a thermo relay that was designed to hook up to a fan. Its adjustable so you can set it to come on at different temp's.

The instructions that came with the relay were very good and it was easy to install. The only problem I had was finding a live ground wire for the 'ignition on.' That was easy with help from the crew here.

I bolted mine to the AC condensor which is the first 'radiator' looking thing closest to the grill.

Do a search for electric fan and you should find the thread I started about this. I like the fan it keeps the AC nice and cold.

I have two mounted between condenser and radiator. Not sure of brand.Have a "spal" temp controller switch.Works very well, but still goes to 200 occasionally.

Autozone version here. used a red lite toggle in the dash to operate, bypassed hooking it into the AC clutch. I wanted to be able to control it ....all the time. Painted the blades to match the truck.

how much does something like that cost? what are some benifts??

$35 for the fan and $50 for the relay.

Benefits is a cooler enginer (if you have a colder thermo) and ice cold AC
