Thanks for the info... I was hoping that Dodge would supply more of a "donut" instead.
My delivery driver went to pick up my new truck today and it won't fit on his trailer. The spec listing that I had for the SRT-10 showed a width of 79.9". The driver is telling me it's closer to 83". The wheel wells on his dual-axle trailer are only 83" as well so it can't be loaded. He also said the front spoiler was at least as wide and maybe a bit more. I was hoping the spare would be significantly thinner so he would be able to pull it on the trailer although that still probably wouldn't have worked if the spoiler was as wide as he estimated.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Any ideas TODAY would be appreciated since he isn't leaving Nebraska for a day or two. Looks like I'll need another driver with a bigger trailer!
When I wanted to transport mine in an enclosed trailer I also found out it wouldnt fit. Someone should have an open trailer for transport. Is it at Woodhouse? Where are you located? I have an open trailer...it takes about 7-8 hours for me to get to Woodhouse. If its a quad cab it will be too long for my 18' trailer I think.
Yes, it is at Woodhouse. The driver DOES have an open trailer, however, the fenders are only 83" wide. That's why he can't get it loaded without possibly damaging the rims. Do you feel like making a delivery?
They delivered my SRT Ram back to me in an open trailer after the motor blew earlier this year. Maybe that trailer is being used but they do have one. Maybe you could wait for that one to return? In fact...this one didnt have fenders if I remember right. They had to load the crate with my original motor in it. So...they do/should have one without fenders on it. We took a hoist to get to the motor from the side of the trailer. It was quite a bit longer then 18' since they had the crate plus the truck to deliver.
I dont think they would appreciate seeing my face again after what has happened this past year.
I loaded mine on an 18 wheeler that was dead heading back from Florida to Illinois. Call a Moving and storage company...the drivers will usually jump at the chance to have a vehicle rather than no load at all going home.
