corrosion in the engine bay

throttle body

throttle spacer

valve cover " viper letters "

roe CC breather

headers ect...

is there anyway to STOP this from happening, and what is the best way to clean it

i know alot of people going to say powder coating. but i am low on funds ATM - any suggestions would be GREAT

i still have to buy a new exhaust sys. so my $$ is going there

thanks,

Is it oxidation???? or hard water spots???? Mine looked like oxidation , but the hard warter here in fl will leave the same look ----I used a rag and tub and tile cleaner to remove the spots and then have to wipe the engine dry everytime i wash the truck....Fstjack recommends pig spit for detailing the engine bay ---I am going to try it when I get time...maybe this will help to keep it clean...

My alternator is starting to look like crap. Everything else is looking ok. I will see once I try to clean everything for my pics I need to take.
I remember back in the day when I was in car audio, you could get chrome cases for alternators. Thinking this might be the way to go. :dontknow:

Clean it as best as you can, a little Naval Jelly and a toothbrush if it is rust, and then spray it with a product called AMSOIL MP. It is a metal protectant that actually embeds itself in the metal and prevents corrosion. Won't hurt anything, and dosn't leave any residue like WD 40 or any of that junk. Order it online from AMSOIL, and make sure you don't get the HD, just the regular MP. I order it buy the box, have been using it for years, spray the whole engine bay with it. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/amp.aspx
