Engine Block 05-06

Go with the car engine mate. They had the real ones..my o2, and yes been down your road with an o6. Get everything forged stock.

Forged has alway been the way to go with any power engine.. they cut costs way back on a lot of engines when the decide to go cast iron .. then the cast iron cranks blah blah blah … they did that with the 340’s in I believe was 1973 .. lowered compression etc. still they ran strong but weaker if built .. pistons went cast also , I’m sure even the rods .. so damn right go forged ..

@rottenronnie since you owned a 426 Hemi back in those days did they start making them with cast parts ?

Kiwi has the tenacity and drive to get that block I would not underestimate his charm spells to get that 10 block lol!!!
Yes he has accomplished that mission and is well underway - very tenacious and committed indeed!! Go Kiwi!! lol

Plum Crazy will breath again!

Seen that, but still by the time I get it home it is $20kNZ and then have to start building it. Probably another $15kNZ
If all else fails I may have to. But the feelers are out Don Scharf has one too
Still for a motor like the Viper V10, going for 10k on average is not bad. I like how every other lump in that link is sold. That means people are using these motors a hell of a lot.

Or maybe they are all having the same problem, narrow ring lands break out and destroy their engines.
If I didn't buy the striker heads, I still would have changed out the lifters, cam, pushrods. The port work that they are doing on the OEM heads is good too for about $3800
It is a shame such a great engine is so unreliable because of mass production atrocities, mainly to meet emissions regs. I feel sorry for Mahle as their name is on the OEM pistons yet they are one of the top piston makers in the world. My new forged pistons are Mahle. Should I be concerned? NA!!!
They make what the customer wants.
