Anyone know where some of us that live in SNOW country can get a block heater?

The truck is outside for now in about 6-8 inches of snow. Woke up and not much black showing.

Thanks for any of you that have info. Ebay has nothing.

The truck has the HD cooling system from the diesel power train in it so I imagine you could just pick up the block heater/circulatory for the Cummings power plant and attach it to the lower radiator hose after removing the necessary amount of tube. Try popping the hood to a diesel truck and seeing where it's located exactly and do the same thing. I imagine this should work??

most diesel block heaters go into a freeze-out plug hole in the side of the block. you can get them to go into the lower rad hose but they usually dont last long. go to jegs and get the ones that look like small electric blankets. they come in differant sizes and they heat the block to about 150ish

That's correct. The Cummins heater is in the block.

I don't have one in my SRT, but I had one in my 96 Ram, my old Dakota, and the Dakota I have now. You just drain the cooling system, knock out a freeze plug and install the heating unit in its place. Then refill cooling system, run the power plug and you are done. It will keep you engine at about 65 to 70 degres depending on how cold it is outside.

I don't drive my SRT much in the winter so it isn't an issue.I ordered my 99 Ram 4x4 with a factory block heater.Just plug it in at night when I need to drive it the next day.I usualy drive the company van,so I don't really need it.

Anyway..........seems Dodge should have something available that would work on the SRT.I like the blanket idea even better, though.
