engine difference of auto vs. shifter

Hi,
is there a difference in the engine from automatic vs. the shifter version or are they interchangeable ?

We have a 04 srt truck for sale in Europe which comes with a second engine from 05 (not knowing if it comes from a RC or QC), due to a blown one which is still in the truck.

I would like to check whether the engine fits or if modifications have to be done to fit it.

the 2004 has NO knock sensor.

04 crank sensor reads off flywheel, 05-06 read off center of crank. Tranny mount flange is a bit different from auto to manual as well but holes can be addressed.

You CAN put a 05-06 engine in an 04 been there done that

Now if it came from a QC it will have the dowel pins that will have to be removed for the manual to work.

Nope not removed!! You need them for alignment of tranny to engine
