Anybody know what this hole is for, and do they make a plug to fill it? Thanks...

For some reason I thought I remember Tincup saying he bought an 05 but I could be mistaken.

Now that I think of it I'm almost positive that he bought a QC. Unless he bought two trucks???

Definitely a 05 QC, is it for a crank sensor?

Well it's definitely an automatic transmission. 6 speeds don't have a dipstick & tube.

Well it's not for a crank sensor, maybe for access to the torque converter bolts, but that would mean there is a plug. Anybody?

Turn the engine over with a socket & breaker bar on the front crank bolt. Use a light and look into the hole and see if the converter bolts line up with it. Sorry I can't be any more help. I only ever had a 6 speed.

There is a cap for it but I don't see any part number but the back is stamped "Capplugs 8138". It is for access to the flywheel bolts.

Look like if you forget to lineup and mark the converter/flex plate you are going to be in for a long day. Lol

Damn, he beat me to it! Went during my lunch break and crawled under the truck and took a couple pics. Even though seethrough's pic is nicer, I'm gonna post mine so it wasn't a waste.

Noticed a little oil coming out of mine. Might need a new one.

Somethings not quite right inside your bell housing. Now to figure out if it's trans fluid or motor oil. Has either level been dropping?

Valve cover gasket

So it's not coming out of that hole. You think it's coming out the back end of the valve covers and running down and around that hole? That wouldn't be too bad as I would like to get the covers refinished.

97% sure it is your rear engine seal. quite common. kind of a big job. transmission has to be removed. once the oil starts leaving a mark on the garage floor is when i would consider fixing it. it will leave an oily mess under the truck if you wait to long. Nice to utilize the PVC system although most venture off to a simple catchcan. There is residual pressure in the crankcase without PVC. This will push oil from seals.

Thanks guy's that's an easy one, I have bags of those plugs in all different sizes, Hopefully the size I need.
