Engine weight

With all this talk lately about weight I thought Id mention what my engine weighed the other day. Basically a long block (no intake, throttle body, flywheel, starter, alternator, powersteering pump, A/C compressor, belt, coils, plug wires, exh. manifolds) it was 465 pounds.

So in the 700 lb range complete??:dontknow:

Thats what I would guess, but it depends then on what pieces you have. Aftermarket headers are much lighter than the factory manifolds, and a aluminum flywheel as well is much lighter than the cast stock. I was thinking for my motor complete would be around 575 or so.

That sounds about right. The iron v-10 was listed @ 700lbs :eek: and articles claim a 150lb reduction with the aluminum block, but i don't think that includes the accesories:dontknow:
