Now tell us not so knowledgable ones, what size they are...
Did I see a 400, 440, 383, 360,413 and/or a 426? not in that order.

NICE! I love seeing those HEMI's! You show yours Roy?

Yup, there were only three SRT 10's there. A Black RC, and a Silver QC, and mine. Both guys (Scott and Mike) should be checking out VTCOA in the near future. I got a "Top 10" award...in the "Stock Appearing" class...no truck class.

I bet that Silverback and Mopar1958 can identify all the engines (Except maybe the last one.)

what model car was the first engine in? cause i bet its a screamer

It was an incredible car. I believe it was a 1970 Challenger. He had his three young daughters working on it, it sounded just plain wicked. It runs on pump gas and he drives it every weekend. The only vehicles that sounded heavier were the fully modified all out drag machines.

By the way...only three SRT 10's, but maybe 21 or 22 new Challengers (only 4 or 5 of which were SRT 8's).

To me that was kind of a turn off...kind of like Mustangs just too many of them...but different strokes for different folks, some like having a popular ride, others like have a unique one.

What a great day...now probably time for winter again.

Last one is the First year of the New Chrysler Hemi Head engine:D:p :p :p

With the introduction of its 1951 models, the Chrysler Division of the Chrysler Corporation announced the new, high performance Chrysler Firepower engine. This power plant, Chrysler's first entry in the "V" type engine field, incorporates several revolutionary design features which make it the most powerful passenger car engine in the United States.

Designed and developed over a period of five years by the Chrysler Corporation, this engine is extremely compact. A unique combustion chamber and overhead valve arrangement is chiefly responsible for the number of advantages it holds over competitive engines of similar type and size. Exhaustive tests have proved that this new engine possesses exceptional operating characteristics and excellent durability. Through parallel programs, the engine accessories were developed to insure optimum performance during all operating conditions.

Performance features
1.- Hemispherical combustion chamber
_ _a) High volumetric efficiency.
_ _b) High thermal efficiency, low specific heat rejection.
_ _c) Superior combustion characteristics.
_ _d) Excellent adaptability to higher compression ratios.
_ _e) Lateral valve arrangement, greater valve durability.

2.- Superior manifolding.

3.- High valve lift.

4.- High mechanical efficiency.

All of the HEMI's pictured except the last one are of the 426 version because the distributor is in the front. The last FIREPOWER engine can be a 392,354,331 etc., all HEMI's because the distributor is in the rear. The purple engine is either a 340 or 360, distributor in the rear and an extended timing chain cover with water pump bypass hose. The teal engine is either a 426 wedge or 440,distributor in the front,no bypass hose and a flat pad just to the front drivers side of the valley pan rail.383's and 400's did not have this pad. Great pictures Roy!

My favorite MOPAR expert has spoken!

Those are great pics Prof.
Those are the one and only true HEMIS!!!!! Will always be my favorites.
Small blocks can be 273 mechanical cam and adjustable pushrods,318,340,360 CID. Love them all... Nothing better than the old Mopar muscle....
