Ethanol has been gumming up my lawn mower and pressure washer for years. 10% blend here. hetruthaboutcars.com/ethanol-may-be-harmful-to-your-lawnmower/[/url]
i wonder if it's where you are in the country that may have anything to do with it as well:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: but i still don't use it:p

hell...we could probably argue about ethanol gas like we can about just about anything else around here:D :D :D

maybe we should start a poll:D

A lot of the gum up problems have come up because people started putting ethanol in a lawn mower or car that has been running regular fuel and when you switch the ethanol breaks up all of these deposits like a paint thinner. It wasn't the ethanol it was all of the crap in the fuel tank and lines from cheap gas before. Its not good for lawn equipment period that I can see because you can't store it unless it is completely sealed. Every lawn mower and a lot of boat motors have vented gas tanks so unless you drain it everytime or drive it every couple of days the ethanol gas will start accumulating moisture. Most new cars have sealed fuel systems and this isn't an issue. I have ran it in a vechicle with a 383 stroker with a procharger and blowthrough carb for 2 years and the fuel cell, lines (that I can see), and carburetor are spotless, however all of the said pieces were new when I started so had no prior build up and I do drain the cell when I'm not running the truck. I think Indy cars run it exclusively now?

I don't know why the world is stuck on effin ethanol anyway, there are no real benefits...hell, the first car over 100 years ago ran off of ethanol, it's not new technology!

Funny...I use 100 LL from the airport...

Well where I'm at Ethanol is about $2.75 a gallon for E85 and is between 100 and 113 octane. Race fuel is anywhere from 7-9 dollars a gallon so its a pretty big cost benefit especially with boost. For my pretty much stock SRT10 there is no advantage but for my race vehicle its not bad in my opinion.

As with all gas prices they vary around the country.....E85 is $2.25 here........still not a bargain as you will get approx 30% less MPG......again only in a vehicle designed or modified to use it....
