Anyone here have exhaust cutouts? I am thinking about have some installed, but I have a few questions.

I have a tune from Torrie. Do I need a special tune for when the cutouts are open due to the reduction in back pressure? Its seems rather inconvenient to have to flash your ECU everytime you want to open the cutouts. Anyone know how this will affect air/fuel mix?

Any good companies or ones to stay away from that sell cutouts?

I was thinking about doing this in conjuction with the JMB midtubes. Perhaps have the midtubes taken to a muffler shop to have the Y pipe installed prior to putting them in the truck.

no special tunes needed, get your cutouts welded before cats or mids if your running catless.....not sure about the brand, i used DMH on my hemi and had no issues, QTP is another good one....

i bought them from another member here - he has a QC - i put them on my RC :D :D :D :D :D

i have the switch (3p3w sw) and all you will need is the wiring...

shit man - for 375 + shipping i will even tho in the x-pipe with a set of magnaflow race mufflers

x-pipe got about 50 miles on it and the mufflers are new never installed :D :D :D

Got any pics? My truck already has a catback put on by the previous owner who owned a muffler shop. I think its more of a shop creation cat back, not a kit. The pics will help me figure out if they will fit.

I just noticed a great DIY write up by Kevan, but the photobucket photos have expired. Any chance someone has the original photos or a copy?

So when you say they dont sound good, what does that mean? They sound like a Honda or a rice rocket? I'm looking for something with a loud and deep rumble. Something that will scare old people and children!!!!

there really is no description except for maybe a d9 dozer with an old muffler with holes at wot:argh: :argh: :argh: :argh:

I love em at idle and when your running down the road late at night with no traffic at around 80 mph. Best way I can describe them, its sounds like a really pissed off UPS truck.

Thanks for the vid. That gives me an idea of what it will sound like. Guess maybe this isnt such a good idea after all....

Its not nice to scare old people! We scare very easily.

If you want a loud and deep rumble...you bought the wrong truck...all of us love the sound of a throbbing V8 with a radical cam...but put your dreams aside, you will not get there. The V10 has totally different "vocal" characteristics. You will learn to tolerate it.

Many have gone to cut outs and then done away with them...

If you are looking for less restriction they are an option...but people will laugh...get used to it.
