I have a B&B exhaust, B&B mids with high flow cats, but stock exhaust manafolds. I keep blowing out gaskets between the exhaust manafolds and the mids. After getting new gaskets and installing them, I notice that the gaskets are loose, even after tightening all the bolts. Also sounds like I still have an exhaust leak.
Are the gaskets needed when bolting to the stock manafolds? Any idea what my problem is?

..........and I know my problem is I need headers :)

if i remember right, the stock exhaust manifolds to mids are a wedge fit & should pull tight w/o need of a gasket..... maybe the seat is warped or the bolts are not tight enough ?? :dontknow:

i have the B&B headers which are a 3 bolt header flange with a gasket & no issues. :)

pics may help the troubleshooting ?

unless its needed by B&B there are no gaskets @ the manifolds. just metal to metal on the ball flange set up.

bolts too long?????? nuts runnin out of threads??????

It is a ball flange. Thats why I was wondering if the gaskets were needed. Maybe tomorrow I will unbolt the mids at the cats and try to snug them up without gaskets.
