Exhaust question

Can our trucks handle strights ran all the way out to the back of the truck. i understand i'll loose some lowend but and really looking for a good sound ....my plan is 3" strights all the way to the stock exhaust tips out back..anyone done this before? i don't really care about how loud it will be...... i'll will eventually be going with long tubes and will change up the exhaust after i get those but what do you think about strights? no cats no nothing just stright 3" pipe

Several members have done that in the past, Patrick (RedSrt007) did it on his truck with good results, as far as performance was concerned.

The thing was too loud and obnoxious for my tastes, I am old and like things mellow so I can listen to Guns-N-Roses at reasonable DB levels........

Stock was OK, the B&B now are deeper , more "powered" sound , but just enough for me....more would be to much...for me ofcourse

Too loud, sounds like a supercar when you get on it, high in the revs. But you have to come down from those high rpms and it sounds like a mini gun!

Buy the magnaflow thats in the sell section.!

i'v already got a magna flow lol... still sounds like a ricer to me... 3" strights would be just right i think hmm.. thanks for all the imput guys i'll more than likely get it done this comeing with along with a K&N Intake...an B&M Short shift sould be a fun ride lol

Magnaflow = rice then straights = Supper rice.

Take the cat-back off and see how you like it, then imagine that sound comming out of the back of the truck. It's bad, and not the good kind..................

If it was a 327, then straight pipes would be a good option.

idk only reason i say it sounds like rice i'm coming from a 5.7 hemi that was camed with long tube headers and had dumps on it.....all stright pipe no cats and it sounded like........it had demonds under the hood guess i

Try no cats with AeroTurbine mufflers.Nice deep tone and adds horsepower by its design.Just ask Bone and Taliban Dan about them.

My .02 ,straight pipes sound horrible at anything other than wide open.

I have the stock exhaust manifold, no cats and Borla..... I do love the nice round (non blappy) exhaust note........ Gurgles real nice at idle... The Paxton doesn't hurt.....

Finding "your ideal" exhaust note is as subjective as it gets... You may require some trial and error..... I'm not a Magnaflow man, but some guys have made other tweaks to make them more palatable.....

This is two 5 cylinders running side by side, not a scavenging v8. I will go broke trying to get my truck to sound like my srt-8, but i know that straights ain't the way to go.!

I love the V-10 rumble outta this truck with the Magnaflow CB!!! I'm simple I guess :dontknow: One rip of the throttle and heads are turning :rock:

I know straights would be waaay too loud for my tastes on this truck...

To the OP, you'll run outta $$$ trying to get this truck to sound like your HEMI V-8 I'm afraid to say...

hahaha yes i'v always headr that there is no way to get a v10 to sound like an 8 ........... but i think i'm going to try.. no cats 3inch pipe into my magnaflow and see what it sounds like........ i'm also not runing the rear part of the exhaust to the tip in the back of the roll pan/bumper...it's dumped right now and i'm prob gonna keep it that way unless it will sound better with them lol...thanks for all the help guys.. yall are starting to drain my bank account lolb
