Exhaust time

alright after this weekends GTG in PA Im lookin to finally buy an exhaust after a year of havin the truck. Ive decided on the magnaflow for now. Waitin till later for the catless or highflow mids. So does anyone have a set or know the best place to get it at a good price. I really dont care if its new or used just as long as it works and is in good condition

thats what Im told. Kinda waitin on a VA check for the mids. I also checked the X-metal site. Couldnt find them on there??

Unless you just HAVE to do it yourself , any GOOD exhaust/muffler shop can do the catless mids for WAY less than buying a set and having them shipped.My local shop looked at mine and told me they could have done them for less than $100 installed !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have Boomers and they are great and JMB's might even be better,but why pay more if you don't have to ??

We don't have emission checks here and so the local shops don't worry about the legality issue like they might further north.

agreed....but just make sure they put the O2 sensors hookups in the right place and that you have O2 sims (mechanical or electrical) to avoid the CEL.

I have heard that if you buy a catless mids and it will include the 02 sims. The 02 sims will trick the pcm in thought that there are the cats and pass the inspection but probably will fail due to the visual inspection. I could be wrong.

It'll trick the computer so you don't throw any codes but you won't pass emissions visually or on the machine.. private garage will pass you!!

You said private garage, that would be like a gas station or a shop that selling the modified parts and have a garage?

Yeah, usually a gas station off the beaten path or something is more interested in you giving him $75-$100 for an inspection sticker than breakin ur chops over it...

I want the catless mids but Maryland is anal about the whole emmissions thing. What would be better for me, To go catless w/ 02 sims or get high flow cats with sims, or just the magnaflow and maybe sneak in some electric cutouts

Maybe you can get the catless mids and keep the stock one. When your inspection come up, you can swap the catless mids to stock for the inspection. It would be a pia to do that. OR maybe you can look for a local private garage and try make a deal if they would pass your truck with the catless mids and you pay them or something. If you find one then get a catless mid. You know what I mean?

yea. My towne seems to have one authorized VEIP station here. Of course they didnt seem like the brightest peanut in the turd whe nI went there last time. Ill probably just get it all and hope for the best. If not like you said, just switch em out. PIA yea but from what I understand here its worth it...cant wait to hear some this weekend so I know what to expect from mine
