How many here have the MAGNAFLOW exhaust with clamps? I can't believe how many I found.. near 12... ridiculous!

I was getting tired of having to re-tighten them weekly. Canada has some really bad roads, hard to keep vehicles in good condition year round here.

So...

I dropped it to the cats, and replaced the clamps with welds. Fought with the installation for over 6 hours. The hangers with the rubber grommets were a PITA to get back on, not to mention the elbow. But now there are no more rattling noises and it all turned out quite well.

Anyone else weld their pipes too?

All welds here...have been from the start...and through lots of permutations trying to find the best sound.

I finally had my Mopar/Borla exhaust welded up. I tried first the clamps - the Mopar kit had 6 each. Out of the 6, 3 leaked and there was no way the leaks were going to stop by simply tightening the clamps. I haven't had a problem one since the weld up...

Welding the joints is the proper way of doing it:rock: I tried the clamps and it seems they seem to rattle and quit after welded:rock:

Thanks! Roughly, around 16 hours from Calgary!

I remember enjoying throwing the clamps out and destroying them.
Nothing was worse than having your truck idled at a red light rattle and a tuner pulls beside you.. NOT that I was going to do anything anyway.. but if that light didn't turn green quick....

Right clamps...no problem. Have mids with no cats and have to change them out every two years, here in California..:(
