i just bought a magnaflow cat back for my truck and i got a leak were it leads to the mids.. the clamps that come with the cat back even good or shud i just weld them together.....

Thats what I plan to do... I purchased mine used, but in GREAT shape, and right where it connects to the mids, it's loose and rattles a bit at cold start up... I'll probably just spot weld 'em in just in case I add catless mids later...

I have mine clamped.I need to have them welded. If you let it sit and idle I get a little water seeping.WELD them mo fos and be done with it!!

Richard (RPM) just welded mine too..... No leaks....Z on EZ off..... and far less cost.

I was told to go V Bands, but it's costly and can be problematic.....

Don't buy into reinventing the wheel.......... Weld the SOBs.........

Welding is your best bet, but if you insist on clamps, NAPA makes some good ones. They're about 2" wide and made of a much thinner metal than the ones supplied by Magnaflow. Each clamp has 2 bolts and when tightened, the clamp kind of "shrink wraps" itself around the pipe.
