No, the photos kinda deceive you on that. Sorry. We cut the roof off, got the dummy out, then rolled it back over. Then he was placed in there again before we cut the doors off.

Ok, thats what I thought. Would be a rough ride for that guy while it was rolled back over. Looked like a good training. You have to worry about it rolling over when the tops cut off. So what did you have to do? Fold the top back to sorta act as a leg to still hold the car up?
Should have had a bigger fire :D

Yeah in the first pic..... that's how we started. Cribbed the car with blocks of wood and used the bumper winch on the fire truck to stabilize it. The cut the passenger side windshield post, door post, and rear post and folded the roof to the ground and walked on it.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your "on the job" pics. Makes me wish I would have chosen a different career sometimes (except when I think about the danger!!) Keep up the great work. :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

I would have just busted the sunroof out... :dontknow:

:D :D :D :D

Looks like a great training day! :) :congrats:

Love the look of the "New Yorker" leather helments. How much are they going for these days? I know back in the mid 70s they were around $125.

Usually from $230.00 to $400. We obtained grant money a couple of years ago to update all of our turn-out gear, so we went all out. But we do answer over 350 calls per year as a volunteer service. We bought the ones with recessed eye protection.

Best Looking helment on the market. Some of the New Styles say better protection but a true smoke eater knows what he wants on his head.

Nothing says Professional Fire Fighter like a New Yorker.

Way to go guys... :) :) Looks Great !!!!

Nice training Travis...
Watched a greenhorn that had his suspenders around his knees...once...on a similar training...after a dash rollup...
started...the "this is too easy...blah blah blah"....... then...got hung up on the door pin....
He was like a yo yo......screwed himself right into the ground...it was a pretty good laugh.
Love the helmets as well:rock:
