Considering the interest generated by the EZDOWN thread, I looked into the product suggested by Smoak....The ezlift.....

This product is made by Hopkins Mfg. I called the company to get the skinny....

They said that I could buy it at Walmart and AutoZone PepBoys....None of which had the foggiest effing idea what I was talkin about....

So, I'm giving serious consideration to being the guinea pig on this one, even though you must drill a small hole in the side of the lower part of the tailgate to install it....

If anyone has any info regarding this product, I'd appreciate your input....

If this baby makes it E-Z to both raise and lower the tailgate. And if it is a quality piece.......I want one....

I was able to install it myself even though they strongly recommend a helper to handle the tailgate for the reinstall. I put down a bunch of towels over the back bumper and side pieces to keep from scratching anything. You do have to drill two 3/8th holes. One on the side of the bed and one on the bottom center of the tailgate. Instructions are thorough and a template is provided. The only problem I have with it is I keep slamming the tailgate. I'm not use to how light it is.:D
