Nice Photo Shop

thanks, I gotta admit, I was rolling when I made the comment about seriously why would the pilot land on 35 when I was asked if I was joking so I put that little photoshop together. I was laughing, you guys should have seem me.

Plane is too clean to be one that broke down.
Covering was done depot level.
Maybe there is some special equipment at Ft. Hood that they need for the aircraft.

But, it is an F-35

Nice, Guess we need to include smileys by every post that's supposed to be funny.

Apparently you missed the point too. I was joking with him about an F-35 landing on a freeway because it ran out of gas...(NOT gonna happen in the continental US). And because he was hyping it up...which was entertaining, I was playing with him.

There are certain specifications that makes an Interstate an Eisenhower Interstate....one of them having a minimum of a 1 mile straight stretch of road every few miles so that an aircraft could land on it....;)

Sorry for using smileys...I just like them. They don't make posts funny, the content does.:D

They're always under armed guard... bunch of top secret shit;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-22_Raptor

This reminds me of when I was in the AF, I was in EOD school in Indian Head, MD..They brought in a truck with 2 vans full of seriously armed guards...Told us to stay waaayyy away from the truck..Next day, us students get to help offload a cruise missile they were using at the school..They had all sorts of practical areas set up where students could go out and disarm bombs, booby traps, etc...The guards watched us like hawks the whole time..This was early 80s when cruise missiles were still a relatively secret thing I think..not sure how old the technology is..

whoever is hauling that plane is retarded. its not on the trailer correctly, and its not on the right kind of trailer..... DUMBASSES!!!!

Maybe its' jet was jack'd there in Ft. Worth...was it on blocks when they found it?

l think the main part of the plane built right there at Carswell in Ft Worth by Lockheed.. was probably on it's way to Corsicana to Grumman/Northrop for next phase of building. Seems strange why it would be an over-the-road transport, but maybe the Government is just trying to save on checking an extra bag?... just my $.02

I doubt it just because the wheels/tires landing gear were all used looking. If it were a new plane not even finished in production yet, that stuff probably would have looked all new and stuff. I walked right up to it, no one said anything to me. Man I have no clue where it was headed, but there were Military Police all over it. I forgot to tell yall, after the plane had gone by the next parking lot past the stop light they stopped about 1/4 mile up the road, but the cops still had the road blocked. Well I just kinda pulled up the end of the parking lot cause I was waiting to leave, and one of the cops thought I was trying to pull out before the caravan was through, and he hit his siren at me and got on a load speaker quickly to address me that I remain in the parking lot. I was like crap whatever, made me wanna pull out and tell him I was deaf.....he wouldve tripped balls on me guaranteed by the way they were acting. woulda been funny :)

def intriguing... let us know if you hear anything. l did a little search and the Ft Worth Star Telegram wrote on Dec 4 that the first F-35B STOVL (BF-1) is expected to fly next week, meaning this week, and the second plane, BF-2 may also fly. lt says BF-2 has made a handful of flights already. From what l gathered from looking around, they do the test flights at NAS Ft Worth, and not at Carswell

if you look at the pictures i'm 100% positive this is one of the first STOVL BF-1's if you look at the pictures is has it's wings folder for carrier Ops as far as i know there are no F-35's with the option to fold it's wings so i think this is the STOVL one

an yes they fly a bunch of stuff in ft worth

At first I was just going to ignore you, but when I seen you still spouting off today on another thread, I figured what the hell.

Just so you know my background, I'm an engineer with the Boeing Company. You may have heard of the company. During my almost 30 years with the company I have worked in the Tool Engineering department. What we do is design the tools that are used to assemble the aircraft. This can be a part that is the size of a coffee cup, up to the final assembly tool that is the size of the plane. We also design the tools that are used to move and lift components and entire aircraft. So based on that, I know what the f*ck I'm talking about here.

So, back to your ignorant comments. When you are moving a 70 million plus dollar airplane, you do not call Bill Joe Bob's Heavy Moving and Cat Shit retrieval company. I can state without any doubt that the trailer and the other tooling involved in that move were specifically designed for that move. Generally for a move like that the tooling will be designed to withstand a 5G load. This is for emergency stops, or in the event of a failure of some sort.

We move a lot of large assemblies by rail car. These rail cars are specifically designed for the part/assembly they are moving. For a large assembly like the 737 fuselage, we may have over 3500 hours in the design of the rail car and the other handling fittings that interface between the fuselage and the rail car.

Even in the case that this plane had landed on the freeway (un-f*cking likely), there is a special AOG (Airplane On Ground) team that is sent out to work the issue. And once again, they do not call Bill Joe Bob's. A lot of the tooling that they need is stored in crates and is shipped with them when they travel. For special needs the tools are designed and fabricated on the spot.

So in closing, it's you that are the "DUMBASS", and once again have shown your ignorance.

Bullshit can only get you so far until you run up against someone that really knows what you are talking about.

so your not in the transportation part of boeing? because if you were you might know more.
the plane itself is high, in fact 16'8" is whats listed. what they have done here is put it on a trailer that the deck is about 3' off the ground. putting the plane at almost 20' high. we have used trailers that the deck is 6" off the ground and one that was 3" off the ground, trailers that cost $5,000,000 new. the reason for the deck being so low is to keep the load low. going down the road at 20' high is hard, very hard. going down the road at 17' is about 20 times easier. i should know, i have done nuclear power plant parts that are worth $200,000,000 and weigh 250tons, and are 23' tall on a trailer that is built to haul 250 tons. it took us about 6 hours to go 8 miles. the trailer was trucked 800 miles to haul it. i run with the company that hauled the plane out of the hudson. J supor & son of Harrison NJ. i have photos to prove i have worked with them if requested.

this plane weights about 25 tons, very light by comparison to what we have hauled in the past. it should have been on a perimeter trailer. if it was on this trailer it would have fit under the lights, most light are about 18' high (boeing engineers would not know that). they made a hard job harder by not knowing what they were doing. might have been the government moving it with their own trucks, would not surprise me that it was done wrong in that case.

and not to mention i work with GE, who hauls parts to make custom cradles for turbines from 300 miles away...
