So my brakes are pissing me off to the point of wanting to stab a b!tch. They started squealing right before I deployed so I bought EBC Green Stuff pads. I have used them on other vehicles and never had an issue. So this past weekend I stopped being lazy long enough to put the EBC pads on, used anti squeal, followed all directions, and did a proper bed in process. Now my damn brakes are squealing worse than before. Anybody have any suggestions that does not involve me buying different pads?? Thanks.

All my SRT's brakes have squealed (Had SRT8's before moving to the '10). If you find a solution, let me know. Otherwise, I think it's just the nature of the beast.

I was hoping that was not the case. Squealing brakes are a pet peeve of mine.

Rotors are probably glazed, scuff them up with a scotch brite pad.

I'll try that next time I can work on the truck and see if that helps. Basically just pull the wheels and calipers and run a scotch brite pad over them?

Tony's sells brake pade that stops that squealing. I don't know the name of them. But I know they work.

I bought the EBC Green Stuff pads from Tony. I didnt see the point in getting the Red Stuff pads because from what I was able to find the only real difference between the 2 was the Red Stuff had even less brake dust than the Green Stuff pads.

My factory brakes squeeled like a pig. I installed centric posi quiet pads front and rear and have not heard a peep since. They were very reasonably priced as well. Got the fronts for $50 bucks and the rear pads for $40. I am very happy with them.

as sonchoba said most likely glazing on the rotors boss,

take the pads off , scuff them up with a scuffy pad, and do the rotors both sides, then drive normal,
and yup go with greens fo sho

Yea the problem is at the rotors for sure scuff the rotors or have them machined and hopefully ur pads arent glazed now....my 10 has never squeeled

Ill pull everything when I get back from Texas next week. I took the rotors to be turned when I replaced the pads and the guy said "There aint sh!t wrong with these" so I just put them back on. Hopefully the scotch brite pad trick will fix it. Thanks everyone.

listen, I ain't no mechanic or anyting like that, what I was told and what I did was put some stuff behind the brake pad. I threw out the tube Tony told me to get but there is a gel or something that you put behind the pad that helps.

I agree if the rotors weren't turned you glazed pads and rotors ! Remove, scuff pads and rotors with a red scotch brite at least or 320 sandpaper. You'll see they're shiny when you look at em

I know what you're talking about now, I thought you were saying that Tony had some different pads sorry for the confusion but I used that gel stuff you're talking about. I think its just gonna be like the rest of the guys are saying and I glazed the rotors by not having them turned.

Just looked at em, they definitely have a blue tinted shiny-ness to them. Will be removing them and scuffing with scotch brite next week. Thanks again everyone.

I bought front & back dimple & slotted rotors with pads and they would squel fresh out of the boxes.

It's a heavy truck & they are high performance brakes, it's going to happen. A lot of my friends who own srt's have the same issues. mine would not do it 100% of the time, but had their fair share.

Right now mine do it every time, but its only at normal braking. During heavy braking there is nothing. I figured there would be a little since the Green Stuff pads are supposedly "performance" brake pads, but I definitely did not expect every time I touch the pedal. My buddy just told me "That's what you get for buying good stuff".

I used the Zekhausen Posi centric ... I did not use anti squeek gel or have the rotors turned ,, Have not had a squeal since I changed to them.... Factory pads squealed all the time.

Same here.

Mine has never squealed, with either stock rotors/pads or with aftermartket rotors and pads. They squeal slightly now because both pads and rotors are worn, but otherwise they've been quiet.
