I seen someone did a shorty shifter from a oem shifter on here

I chopped 2 inches out of this one and tig welded it back up, must say it did make the throw a little bit less.

did you take out the rubber vibration dampener? that really helped my factory shifter

I will post more pics when i get another shifter knob
mine is worn out and need of replace.

i know both shifters had 0061 engraved onto them but both shifters were different.

stock one out of my truck the holes were very large around 5/8 i would say.

the other was 1/2 inch.

All in all i wish i would of did this awhile ago.

Very nice work! How is the casual driving part of it? Comfrotable while crusing?

usually i ride with the center down but i found with it being up its better.

it's lower but not by much, but still can cruise with hand on the shifter knob.

i will take pictures of inside tomorrow. i am very happy with the results.

i can help someone with this if needed.

picture of shifter in 3rd gear. shifter sits a little lower not a big difference.

Really nice, neat idea. Do you think the top part could be modified instead of the bottom? This would allow the Hurst logo to look normal.

I can cut and weld anything you want.

I am taking my other stock shifter and going to mod it a little different this time if i'm done tomorrow i'll post more pics of it.

thinking of cutting 3 inches this time since 2 inches was really not a big difference in drop.

i might just make a whole new shifter all together and see what i can come up with.

finished the other shifter took 2.75 inches out of it.

wanted to mount it a little different this time and try something new.

Looks good... Don't let Joemags see your interior.. He may have a heart attack :goodnight:

Wouldn't a b&m still be over all Better since the pivot point changes?

Just curious, I've never had a stock r/c shifter, just the b&m.
