What legal rights(or responsablity) does a god mother/father have?

If there is a family law expert on here with an extra few minutes please pm I have some more specific quesions.

I don't believe they have any without something else in place.

God parents are really only recognized by the church. I believe...

I am not a legal expert, so this is my opinion, but I believe it to be correct.

ntwork is right. Godparents dont have crap for rights unless specified through a will
