Well....

Shitty day at the track....95 degrees at 9:00 pm.....85 by 9:45.....first cars down the track after complete repave....everyone was about .3- .5 seconds slower than normal....

Truck ran 11.9s at 119 with a 1.8 60'........ ....

Trainman from the NFFF forum was there with those big ass M&H drag radials.....and pulled a 1.86 60' and ran a 12.9 at 107......not bad .....those tires are the right answer....for most N/A SRTs.....

Hi Guys, new to this Forum. It was great to see Mike at Famoso. Well I finally got my first 12 second run. at 12.960 @ 107.09. The 60' was 1.868 was accomplished by leaving the line @ 2800 RPM with 20lbs in the M&H Drag Radials ( size 390-40-17 ) with a slight bog!!. The second run I tried to get real agressive and launch @ 4000 RPM with 19lbs and lost traction...Result was 13.184 @ 108.13 with a 2.249 60' foot. Not the best conditions because of the heat so I am looking forward to cooler days this fall. Just for those who want to know I have a 2004 RC with the following mods: Mofo Headers, Volant Ram Air system, Magnaflow exhaust, 170 Thermostat, DC Stage II tune, and just installed Fidanza Flywheel, Centerforce clutch, Viper Master and Slave cylinder upgrade. Stock Dino numbers were 415 HP and 433 Ft Lbs.
Modified Dino numbers after DC Stage II were 482 HP and 526 Ft. Lbs.

Welcome Trainman, congrats to both you guys for posting great times. Too bad it was too hot, but I hope you guys had a good time :D

Nowwhat....where is your guys video!!?? :dontknow:

Here is ours from Wednesday in case you missed it....i didn't see you leave us any comments: http://www.venomous.biz/Movies/SRT-1...ts first.mpg

I was launching at 5,000 RPMs w/ the MT ET streets and the best i could get was a 2.000 60foot with a 13.1 @ 107mph. I am almost running out of gear in 4th. Once I add headers and a tune I will need some taller tires for sure!

Nowwhat...can you grind the calipers enough to fit a 15'' wheel over them?
What setup do you and Train have in terms of rims and tires?

Was the track slow b/c of the temps or the new paving?

Hey mike, have you ever seen the prechiller deal, or maybe hit your intercooler up with some CR02, to bring the temps down....I bet it would help.

My engine was not heat soaked....the problem with the hot temps is that you have shitty air = bad D/A....

the biggest problem...we are talking .2 tenths easy is that I hit the rev limiter on the 1 - 2 shift every run....DC performance is working on a computer fix....

next week that will be fixed and I will have my new adjustable shocks I hope.....

My last run of the night the air was cooler but when the track cooled down traction went out the window....new track and all....

All big mod QCs...you gotta figure out how to shift at 5500 rpm at WOT.....will keep you posted if I learn anything...

Yeah.....lemme know Mike,,,i noticed mine was doing that almost every time....thought it was the detent on the tranny...have u messed with that? Shifting earlier is gonna lose boost....if it shifts there, it prob will shift at the right time if u tell the computer to shift eaarly....then by the time it figures it out it will shift at 5900....dumb computer.

A new track surface is what is called "bald" it has no build up of rubber. This is less than optimal for traction.

A cold track will not "hold" the launch and you will blow the tires off. To cold and the adhesion goes away, too hot and the track gets "greasy" and won't hold either.

Tire Mfgrs try to make a tire that will work best on a track temperature that is 80-95 degrees.

It is a crap shoot on any given day. Tire pressure, tire compound, launch RPM, Converter stall speed, air temp/density.

The guys that run against an index at different tracks and do it well, have my utmost respect.

What worked last week may just barley get you down the track next week.

That sucks you could of ran better than that at LACR last Sat.:burnout:

Mike....what is the altitude of famoso? I wouldve thought you would run better if it is closer to sea level....goes to show that TEMP is more hurtful than altitude.

Yepper.....they were calling the track...."green".....interesting to watch them use tractors to drag rubber doen the track....also they were using powdered VHT......???

My best 60' was 1.73 and but had a 2.3 as well = first run and maybe the 10th car to go down the track....

But....the track was flawless....I mean smooth.....no dips....nothing.....
