I had the Fidanza lightweight flywheel and Centerforce clutch with Viper hydraulics.With 4.10 gears I HATED it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Couldn't wait to get it out !!!!!!!!!!!!
It could possibly be better with 4.56's or 4.88's,but I doubt it.
To move a 5,000 lb. truck you need weight/mass.The Fidanza flywheel is just not good for it,in my opinion.
Opinions do vary,though.

ya might want to check out the Chromoly flywheels, they are in the middle as far as weight :dontknow:

I had the Fidanza with a Centerforce clutch and 4.56's and I loved it. I now have a McCleod with twin discs and an Aluminum flywheel. The heavier steel flywheel actually cost me 2/10th's in the 1/4 mile and throttle response wasn't as good. Truck is much quicker and feels better with the Aluminum flywheel. http://www.streetfire.net/video/trainman_2085103.htm

Since I didn't race mine I couldn't say.But for around town, it sucked ass.Again,that may have had something to do with the 4.10's :dontknow:
Tossed my Fidanza in the trash.
Terrible for driving in traffic...simply not enough weight to get into third or fourth gear in town. Went back to stock with lots of rotating weight...heavy vehicle requires heavy flywheel...as simple as that.

The 4.10's are probably the reason the aluminum flywheel acts different on the street. I have an 04 Rc but I put 4.56's in before I tried the Fidanza flywheel. I had a tune, headers, and Magnaflow muffler before going to the Fidanza flywheel, so I was stronger than stock (415rwhp, 433 ftlbs pure stock) when first trying the Aluminum flywheel. I noticed I could break the tires loose in 1st or 2nd gear without touching the clutch with the aluminum. When I first went to the McCleod twin disc they said I should go with steel because of the weight of the truck (before I had done any weight saving measures) so I listened to them and went with their steel flywheel. I instantly lost 2/10ths in the 1/4 mile and the truck would bog around town in 2nd gear when I would mash the throttle, it couldn't break the tires loose like before. I kept the steel flywheel about 8 months, but finally wanted to try the aluminum flywheel. I contacted McCleod and they provided their aluminum flywheel...after installation and break-in period I got back my lost 2/10's and I also could break the tires loose in 2nd gear by just (jsut for Tony) mashing the throttle, truck felt quicker and lighter. Then I started shedding weight and the rest is history....first 11 second NA truck (stock internals) in the VCTOA!

Believe it or not, I can mash the gas in second and break the tires loose with my QC with 440ish HP and on newer tires! I've never understood the ones saying they can break traction. Hell, on certain roads at about 3500RPM in 3rd I can do it:burnout: I always thought mine was low on power :dontknow: It did, however, with auto produce 428hp but 490 ft lbs torque which most of us know that Torque is what moves 5600lb trucks down the road.:rock::burnout:

I am very intrigued by this thread though and wonder how much the Fidanza would benefit me with my additional 5-600 lbs? Here I go to the wanted ad again, lol.

Next truck I may try it again.But,maybe not.I absolutely suck at drag racing,so it is not really an issue for me.I would be driving mostly around town and highway.
I would want 4.56's,again better for street,probably not as good for 1/4 mile,but I don't know.
Does anyone make 4.30 gears for these trucks ?

WOW, I have the same set-up as you did to a T.
And love it. I dont see what you didnt like ? I can come smashing off the line and rip threw gears better than stock.
I'm even going to buy another just to have laying around in case I need it.
I kinda thought if you loose drivetrain weight, you gain HP. thats the idea right.
I am looking into the 4.56 gears now, I'll let you know what I think after they are in.
