.... Our fire dept. is strictly volunteer and answers over 300 calls per year. Our latest model fire engine is 1984 and our oldest is a 1976 (which we still use the hell out of). After 4 years of submitting grants to the federal government, we have been rewarded a grant for $299,000 to purchase a new engine. E-ONE is building the truck from the frame up and will be here in 210 days. We are so damn excited we can't stand it. Just wanted to throw in some good news to the forum.

That's a nice rig. One of these days I hope to be living in the boonies, I would love to be part of a volunteer FD. But, I would want to be answering a LOT less calls than that hehe.

Nice Rescue Pumper... midship pump...you know if your getting a Hale or Waterous? A PTO driven generator is awesome if you got the room.

yeah we are planning a trip to go down there and take a tour of the assembly process.

That is funny, It seems like a lot of the ones around here are new or newer.

We just pay the guys crap and get new equipment I guess :dontknow:

Well for the the first four years I looked into signing up and the pay sucks until you reach first class lieutenant.

Now that is a fire dept. Thanks, Itch. Actually we go to a lot more meth labs than that. I think in 2004 it was about 50 total. Something to be proud of, huh? Damn crackheads!
