Ran the truck for the first time tonight...with 471rwhp and 523rwtq...I managed a few 8.8's in the 1/8th. About 58 degree air temps. Nothing I did seemed to make much difference in times, tailgate up or down, on run 1 and 2 rear tires had 31 psi in them, runs 3-5 they had 26psi. Launch rpms was around 2500. About 3500 on the first run, which may have caused all of the wheel hop. But 2500 resulted in about two hops, bog, then squealed the tires the rest of the way down. According to poppopmadman's chart, I'm running some consistant 13.73's in the quarter. Sound normal with my mods?

Run #1: 60ft: 2.2000 / [email protected] (lots of wheelhop down the track and got out of it at the line)

Run #2: 60ft: 2.4270 / [email protected]

Run #3: 60ft: 2.3141 / [email protected]

Run #4: 60ft: 2.3309 / [email protected]

Run #5: 60ft: 2.3380 / [email protected]

That 60' is horrible; not bashing, just think you can do a lot better! Your mph seems to be ok, so we know you're making good power:rock: . Keep practicing!

Yeah...looking at some trap speeds from the car group around here, I should be running 8.4-8.5's with a good 60ft time.

Sixty is bad compared to yours Outnumbered because he is an RC. Way way harder to launch. With the catback and k and N I ran these numbers:

60 2.189
1/8 8.853
1/8 mph 81.64
1/4 13.580 at 104.10

With your mods your definatly faster. With the proper track prep, launch and cold temps, your in the 12's.

I find that the best 60's on an RC is from an idle. Was able to hit a few 1.9 and 2.0's even though having quite a bit more ft lbs over stock.

Next time give it a try ;)

mmmmtorque definitely has the launch technique perfected. Look at his times and hp in the timeslip section. He could probably give some pointers. I've seen him launch, and he gets out in a hurry.

Traping 85mph you should be running much faster. Just need more practice!

I would be ppleased with those runs. The only time I ever ran mine I did much worse, 9.3 @ 78 MPH as I recall, but it was 104 degrees when I did it so I'm sure that didn't help any. So I would be pleased with those runs...

LOL :D

I'm no expert, I have had probably the worst run of shit happening while trying to get a clean run out.

Hit 2 runs in a row with a 1.9 60' only to miss 3rd due to my master slave unit going out.

Had some good runs when its warm...easier to launch 500+rwhp when its 95 degrees out :D Still havent broke the 12 second barrier due to BS, weather and that fact that I only hit the track about 3 times a year.

Anyway, in my opinion the best launches on the stock tires are at 22psi and going from an idle. If you are seriously interested in getting a decent 1/4 slip then drag radials or slicks are the only option. ;)
