Hi!
This saturday I had to take my truck and get rid of my dragracingvirginity once and for all
Small event with 70 cars in the line-up and 201 meters dragracing near my hometown.
I was so nervous when I rolled up next to the "christmastree" and the stage. Bigger audience than expected. I started warming the tyres and my heartbeat raised as I waited for the lights. Fully wheelspin 1st and 2nd gear down the track from launcing at 3000rpm. The first run landed on 9.5 seconds at 123km/h.
Second run, no wheelspin but missed 3rd gear before I crossed the finishline at 9.3 seconds at 127 km/h with the clutch still down.
Then I had no time to try again. I was late to the event..
Next time I will try to get some more runs and more experience and maybe hit 9.0 seconds with better shifts.
The truck is stock with kn-cai and lowering kit. I reduced some wight by get rid of the bedcover(very heavy), the rubber matt and low on fuel.
Do you have any advice for better driving? What rpm are you shifting and starting at? How much do you think I will improve the time by changing to 3" exhaust and get rid of the two second cat, billet throttlebody, and sct tune?
