We started out at hrp and the went to hmp(1/8th mile). The first pass every in this truck was against a built cammero, it sai t56 rebuilds on the side of it, he pick the wheels up off the line and the slammed down and shot sparks every where and then fell apart. So I changed my underwear and managed a [email protected] with a 1/8 mile of [email protected]. Later we went out to hmp and a turned [email protected]. The 2-3 shift is a pain but toward the end of the night i was getting it down.

Losses - (1/8th) srt-4 (missed 3rd) beat him on the rematch.
(1/4) some hatch back (missed 4th) and a 11 sec vette

Wins - (1/ Srt-4, Roush mustang, Highly modifyed CTD, a red lighting, to much rice to count, chevy silverado SS, cobalt SS, qc hemi, titian, Z06 Vette and thats it.

(1/4) qc srt-10, turbo vw, a stock black lighting, a bolton lighting, a cammero ss, 5.0 mustang, and some rice

Beating a Z06 means you are in the low 12's...that is very very quick. My supercharged ride still has trouble with them...

Not necessarily. Most likely means the Vette driver, can't drive.:p

106mph ain't bad for stock or close to stock though!

Thats hard to do.......they are quick bastards!!!
It depends on the year. My very first race was against a ZO6 - an older one- maybe 2002 or so. Beat him by 2 lengths in 2 blocks in my stock QC. Didn't know what it was - had to google ZO6. :p I've since learned that that performance option on the Vette actually does back to 1963 - learned that on Barrett-Jackson, AKA Fantasy Wonderland.

The z06 was a new one, '06 got him off the line and he didn't have enough to come around me. Had it been a 1/4 mile he would have had me easy.

A new ZO6? I think we all know he had enough to get around any of our stock trucks. He just couldn't get enough traction to get it done!

isnt the 06 zo6 the only stock vette that has enough horses to beat us? my buddy did some research and thought he told me anything older that 06 not a problem as they were only 350 horse? but its been a while and i could just have a bad memory...

Played with one once...got my ass handed to me. Crazy fast car and traction was not a problem for this thing...I think claws shot out of the tires at launch.

The '01-'04 ZO6 Vettes have more than enough to beat our trucks in the 1/4 mile - stock vs. stock, assuming they can drive. The regular LS1 Vette's would even give us a pretty good run in the 1/4 mile. The new C6 LS2 400hp Vette is also an easy mid-12 second car stock.

Keep in mind, they're also ALOT lighter than our trucks.

I think they are available with traction control. So the car just about launches itself.

The first time I saw an '06 Z06 in person, I was in my '05 GT Mustang (which I happily traded on the SRT-10) with CAI, Tune, Flowmasters, cromoly adjustable tubular suspension, etc. The guy pulled on the interstate about an 8th mile in front of me and I recognized it from what I had seen in the magazines. I wanted a closer look, so I nailed it to get closer. I got within about 50 feet of him and then I started looking at the floorboard to make sure I wasn't nailing the brake to the floor. That thing was unreal. I know I won't mess with one if I see it in my SRT-10.

The 2001 Z06 version of the C5 vette had 385 hp.The 2002-2004 models of the Z06 had 405 hp.In 2005 the new C6 version vettes came out with 400 hp( these were standard vettes, not Z06's) .The Z06 versions of the new C6 have 500 (or more ) hp.

I've had almost a full second of reaction time on a new Z06 and he reeled me in just fine.

I guess the driver in this particular Z06 can't drive.

I doubt a stock SRT could beat a Z06 regardless of year. Even the '01 with 385 hp.

Either way, good runs.

Beware the new GTO's and the Z06's unless you have added some zip to your sled.

Pictures.

My wife has a 2006 C6 (not Z06). It came stock with 400 fwhp. It's now at 443 fwhp (dyno'd). She kicks my ass from every speed to every speed. Corvettes starting 2005 and newer, we can't touch them. The C6 is <3,000lbs. versus my QC at mid 5,000 lbs. I'd need 900+ horsepower and significant improvements for traction to have a fighting chance.

Nope...just 620 rwhp...I can get the C6's no sweat...but the Z06 is still very very tough...
