i am no stranger to catfish, but i am sure there must be sub groups....
what is this one? it had a fat belly. was it just well fed?

oh, i didn't kill it, i let it go. never eat ANYTHING out of the hudson. was going to saltwater fish, until they said i was needed in buffalo monday at 7am....
 
caviar anyone? only 3rd fish i have ever cough worth mentioning. pathetic.
i will be throwing the line in saltwater next weekend, will night crawlers still work in salt water?
 
idk man.... Ive always used shrimp, sardines, herring, or squid.

could be full of mussels, we catch them all the time here full of them, like a fresh water clam. they eat them whole

yup its a fat yellow cat ,,,damn good eatting if its caught in clean water:D

saltwater is best to use live shrimp floated under a cork 4 to 5 feet deep under cork ,,if you bottom drop it crabs will steal your bait non stop ,,,,

usually get some weird looks on this one but, ever go to the spill way/dam, on the outlet side & fish for carp????

before my grandfather passed, we used to go down to FLA to fish with him...

he's always say [when the crabs ate our bait] hell, they gotta eat too:marchmellow:

LOL i think you mean Hardhead,,,but i wont eat a hardhead they have a slim coat on them thats nasty as hell.,,o and a hardhead is a saltwater catfish ;)
 
good tips guys, i just want to catch fish. i can't really fish well, so i settle for whatever bites. that guy bit off the bottom after only 20 min, then i gave up and went home.
