Here's a pic from this weekend. Went on a charter out of Destin Fl. If anyone wants to fish out of there, be sure to go on Sunrise with Captain Kelly. Boat docks at the Fisherman's Warf. He is the best in the area and he and crew will work hard to get you fish. He's tough to get so book call way way in advance. He also owns three other boats, they would be my next choice.

There were 11 of us on the trip. Left out of Destin Sun morning, ran about 80 miles out. Were out for 24 hours. And yes we did get caught in the first named storm of the season. Came back in in 12' seas. Most of the fish in the pic are mainly Amberjack with the largest being 50+ lbs. two shark, two scamp, one dolphin, some rock salmon, and the day maker was a swordfish. No pic of the sword, camera died.

Good catches...
Have you gone down further to the Keys??

I have a couple of times. I get spoiled down there with a short run to the stream. I usually fish off South Carolina so I'm used to a 70 mile run. Usually try to head down there sometime during the colder months up here when the fishing isn't as good.

nice catch of AJ's....I have 8 lbs of fillets in the freezer yet:D

Like hooking into a Locomotive...one of my favorites to hook in the Gulf

Excellent table fare also...blackened, on the grill, sandwich....AJ soup, AJ cocktail, AJ Picatta, AJ........:D

Looks like a great day

good catch we fish out of panama city beach father and brother both have boats, aj's are the funnest other than blue marlin we always fish the baypoint invitational every july 4th

Yeah the AJ can really pull. We had a guy on the trip who was ripped, like arms so big the shirt is about to rip. He'd never been before and thought he could just muscle those bad boys in. He got his ass kicked by fish all day.

LOL the guy in the background had gotten seasick during the day and the rough ride on the way in never gave him a break. Two others stayed outside during a storm because they were afraid that if they went into the cabin they'd get sick.

Nice catch. We used to go out in the Gulf from Ft.Myers Beach.I want to go out of Mayport in JAX when I go to Roe.Good fishing there from the 80`s when I went last up there.

Where is Destin? West coast ,east coast?

Destin is one of the white sand beaches between Pensacola and Panama City. ;)

I almost commented about the fella in the background....regarding the "thank God I am on land" look.
He's DONE!

nothing like watching someone get "railed"..... been there done that

we got into the Blackfin one day....two and a half hours...non-stop reeling
Boated near 800 lbs of fish that day...made the magazine..buddy of mine has the video...unreal

ive got some old video of my dad on the bow with a spinner with spider wire on it too fun. dont matter how strong you are these guys will give you a work out.

We were hoping to get into some Yellowfin but the shrimp trawler that the captain was planning on hooking up with headed in b/c of the rough water. Maybe next year. When the shrimper is out there you can catch tuna till you're ready to drop.

NBT that sounds like a blast. Long day but FUN
