I know someone on here had custom flowmasters cut-in.
I just wanted to get an idea of what they sounded like after installed and how much it ran you.
Never heard flowmaster on a V10.

I got flowmasters on my truck (they were there when i bought it, just like the nerf bars) sounds like a UPS truck...i am definately gonna change them...i am close to orlando if you wanna shoot up this way to listen to them...only a 4 hour trip

There was a thread once where somebody had their flowmasters dyned..........they actually lost power. It was awhile ago...........could have been on the nfff site.

My neighbor has glass packs on a 65 Chevy pickup which came with a Vette engine.............sounds quite nice.........especially when he hits the gas.:D

:D yeah they're uber sweet... they're also uber loud !!! :D

Dude DONT PUT FLOWMASTERS ON YOUR TRUCK!!!!!! I lost power with them and had them removed. I put Imco drag high flows on and I virtually have no back pressure with them.:D :D

I ran a 8.8 in the 1/8th with two flowmaster 40s. Other than that the truck was stock. So some people may have "lost" power but the dyno and the street/strip are two different things.

Shit man...this is making my life hard LOL
How much did those high flows run you?

So how much did the flowmasters run all you guys to install?
What does everyone recommend that I can do for exhaust to make it sound better but not spend a shitload of money. I'm very tight right now on money but I really want that truck to sound better. It's too quiet for my taste for a VIPER truck.

Its cheaper to yank out your cats.......

Get some 02 sims for a coupla' hundred bucks, cut out the cats and replace them with straight pipes in the section...weld it all back together...Put your cats in a box for smog day (if you have that in Florida)...

You'll instantly get about 25-30 hp increase and the sound will be VASTLY IMPROVED...:burnout:

Good luck...

Thanks for the quick reply Dr. D!!
We get no inspections here in Florida :)
The sound is gonna be a LOT different? Is that what you did?
What you think if I were to do that AND put that magnaflow cat-back system on?

Bro, I don't know dick about Flowmasters. So, if some guys say that they restrict horsepower, I could'nt agree or disagree.... I have no cats with the Borla unit on mine....

My solution begs the question as to whether the stock mufflers are better than the Flowmasters and my gut tells me no..... But again, I don't know dick about Flowmasters.... My guess is that'd they'd probably be better than the OEM mufflers...

I don't think I lost HP or TQ for my setup, I think it remains the same. I noticed more pull when I installed my Flowmaster, but I guess your results will vary. Also my install cost $160, including cut/weld/muffler. Can't beat that with any other setup IMO.
