Well I thought I had finally settled on an exhaust set up, full B&B from headers back. Before I plop $3,500-$3,800 on this beast is it worth it? :dontknow: I read that these mufflers are splitting (under huge loads of power) and I think that I remember someone saying they are not free flowing. Now I feel just as confused as before. PLEASE shed some light on this for me. Thanks guys:D

the fit and finish are first rate...the sound is spot on....As a company their cust service is not up to the standard of their prices....

if you aren't going crazy on your power you will love it....

Their facility is just a few miles from me. I've been through their place and can say having the latest greatest equipment to design build these exhausts really shows in final fit and finish. Bellenger is also nearby and also a great group of guys though I must say they are of the older style/type of builders. One uses jigs and the other CNC machines...;) You definitely pay for B&B but fit, finish and sound imho is top rate!

btw...insider at B&B spoke about 'issues' with their HP cats/mid pipes. At the time they were looking at another source for the cat. Guess they had a few plug up with customers. That was a good year ago so I'm sure its been handled.

just there cat pipes? also, Nowwhat you mentioned that there great if your
not going HP crazy... was that in reference to the muffler or the headers and
mids aswell?:dontknow:

i thought so... just wanted to double check as i think RiceEater told me not
to run the bottle with B&B's as it will melt the headers? :dontknow:

Potential problems with the headers, cats and mufflers. With the cost of these things I am starting to rethink this. Anybody else out there with anymore info? I swear the more I research this the more confused I get. It sounds like I just pick a set up and cross my fingers:dontknow:

right there with ya brother.. from what i was told by a fellow friend/vendor
the Mopar longtubes are the way to go for power.. i personally don't like
how the pipes bend around in the engine bay.. good eye candy but not
my style.. anyways, basanni's are not my forte either.. i don't like how the
pipes come togther at the end.. B&B's, from what everyone is telling me ,
aren't bad.. aka you can't go wrong with them.. but i didn't plan on running
the bottle anyways.. i plan on going with the B&B's but i have no solution
for hooking them up to my magnaflow that i know of.... i emailed Dave with
a few Q's and can post up his replies here in a bit...

Is it just personal preference for the mangas or is there another reason for not going all the way back with the B&B's. I hear the same things abouth the Mopar headers. I do like the Belangers since they already come ceramic coated. Well let me know if you resolve the mate between B&B and the mangas. Good luck.

well.. Nowwhat did state that under alot of pressure the B&B mufflers will
blow apart at the seams.. now you would think that such a good company
would garentee there work.. aparently not the case here..

about the magnaflows.. when i first bought the truck i bought a magnaflow
cat-back from Roe because i hated how quiet it was... ever since then
i've been hooked.. it just sounds too good man :D  haven't heard anything
else though...

I havent even heard the magnas in person. IMHO it is difficult to really know if I will like the sound of the exhaust or not. All you need is some good computer speakers and they all sound good. I agree, the stock is way too quiet.

yeah, the borlas make the truck sound like a sporty car... think ferrari..
the magnaflow gives it that low rumble... don't know bout the B&B's muffler..
some of the guys have flowmaster and apparently it sounds good.. just
personal opinion i suppose :D

The more I try to unravel this puzzle the better the Magnas are looking and cheaper too. Sounds like a win win situation. :D

Sorry if my post was causing you to question B&B. Not my intention. One thing B&B did was spend lots of time trying to get the 'right' sound and I think they hit a home run. Closest sounding exhaust has been magnaflow but B&B is better imho....deeper, throaty but still fairly quiet. If I was to drop the cash B&B would be it though personally I'd keep my stock headers in place.

It was several recent posts by several people that made me start to questoin this set up. Thank you for the info. Much appreciated.:D

Gaboon I understand your concern. After hearing about Mikes and another members stories about their BB mufflers blowing apart and then BB not offering any customer support........I would be apprehensive about purchasing their product as well.

I have the maganflow and love the tone, its 100% better over stock. I also have deleted my cats which make it louder and deeper. I believe in the 3 years of having my truck I have heard of just one magnaflow failure which was replaced free of charge.

Its a shame about the BB ones...........they look awesome......for what they cost, IMO they shouldnt fall apart like that.

I've had Borla, Magna and Straight pipes. This is cat-back. Up front it's Belanger Headers/Catless - Mids.

The Borla had a nasty habit of resonating at low RPM's, but @ WOT it sounded great and the backfires are cool. :)

Magna is much better at idle and only seems to resonate around 2500 RPM really bad, it's still got a pretty good tone at WOT but it backfires very little comparativly.

Straight pipes are well insane. :D If you can stand the resonating, backfire pops and the smell of gas and oil.... well go ahead. I would have loved to stay with the Straights but it only really can work if you have no spousal or friends.. haha.

Best setup IMO is the Magna, i have the Roe S/C and with Borla/Straight i actually had a hard time hearing it!!!! Especially Straights, i couldn't even hear my S/C.

Man I love this place. You have all been so helpful in this decision. that really sucks that the B&B is soooo much and they wont even cover the damage, ghey.

:D Better get used to it, you'll be spending a lot of cash and basically be all on your own,, except us here, as i've seen first hand anyone will help you anytime!!

Alright here's the scoop + a Q for the older folks here or the young ones that
know there stuff...

I just talked to Dave and he informed me that the inlet to the Magnaflow
is 2 1/2" and the midpipe coming from the B&B is 3".... he explained to me that
i should cut some pipe and tell him to ship more after i do something...
wondering if there is an easier way to get this fitted...

so to recap 3" -> 2 1/2" how do i do it.. with no leaks (hopefully)

Thanks,

Sharpi
