And another story of one of our German team members.
He already has a RAM SRT10 RC (04) in red but he thought that a black one would suit really nicely into his parking lot.
That was the plan !
Now, how to get one, without paying too much ? He thought Sandy could help and started to look on online auctions for a flood salvage truck in relatively good condition.
Finally he found one and bought it "blind". Quit risky but in the end it paid out.
The insurance company rated the car with 25.600 US$ with a final value after Sandy entered the truck up to the height of the headers with 0,00 US$.
Still the truck looked quit ok on the photos of the auction.
On monday of this week Wolfgang was able to pick the truck up in the harbor and even thought that it might be possible to fire it up.....but nothing than silence when pushing the red button
So he trailered it to his home and started to clean all the contacts, dried some of the ECM and waited another night, before trying again.
Again...silence !
So the next try to bring the underseaboat alive was to change some of the electrical components, starting with the alternator.
Next try to fire it up !
And.....it runs !!!!!!!!
As you can see from the photos, he did not only import a truck but also some dirty water from the US....:rock:
UNFORTUNATELY THE EMBLEMS WERE NOT ONLY STOLEN BUT ALSO DEBAGGED WITH A SCREW DRIVER, SO A PAINTSHOP WILL HAVE TO DO SOME NICE JOB IN THE NEAR FUTURE !
