Free Mods??

does any one know of any "Free Mods" for our trucks. i know for the LS1 and stangs they have tones of free mods. i was just wondering if they have any available for our trucks. let me know thanks guys

Opening up the front of the air-box, similar to opening the bottom the air-box on the LS1 F-Body.

You can purchase an air compressor air/water seperator and use it as a catch can to stop blow by from entering the TB. (not free - but cheap)

I'm sure if you wanted to disassemble the t-stat you could do the "free" t-stat mod. But a 170* t-stat is pocket change.

I think the AIT Timing Tricker mod works on this vehicle as well, but I forget which resistor you need exactly. Do a search for it, the info's on here. (again, not free, but cheap)

You could port/polish the stock TB.

Exhaust cut-out (not free, but cheap, again)

Free?? Remove the fuzzy strip along the top of the firewall.
Cheap?? Paint the "Viper Powered" under the hood".
Except for cat removal, There aren't many free/cheap mods on these trucks.
But there are a whole bunch of expensive ones.

Hey SilvrSRT10... I was reading this reply of your's and would like to confirm something... This fuzzy strip along the top of the firewall, is this the one right below the wipers and is padded in the middle, flat along all the edges... So that serves no purpose huh... I wondered... how do u port the stock TB and do u notice a diff?? and the air box... i have the volant CIA with the ram air scoop, and 3" MagnaFlow Cat Back....ok the cats. these trucks come with 4 cats from factory. by removing the 2 back cats, will that throw a code??

Hey SRTMike... I removed 2 of the 4 cats and no it will not throw any codes... THE REAR 2 CATS ONLY... I have a full 3" sys. that I built right from the end of the cat all the back with the 3.5" race series magnaflows. No codes to date... I will be removing the front 2 soon... The sims will be going in to prevent the codes from popping up... OH and TAKE the cats they remove with you!! Do not leave them at the exhaust shop (unless their buds of yours and you want to)... Why, they will sell the cats and get good cash for them from the scrap guys that hit all the exhaust shops... I got wind of this from a friend and I took mine to the scrap yard myself here and got $175.00 for each cat!!!! So take them and sell them your self and get the cash... But that depends on the price of platinum for that day... Just FYI... Hope this helps... Tony...

All I have now are dodge, toyota, and z06 bolt patern.

They also took a bunch of stuff for my 442!

In another 15 weeks I will be building a house down there, and everyone that has built recently has had something stolen, so I'll just camp out down there with a ski mask on. Hoping they try it again break a few bones take em for a Lil ride dropem about 20 miles away strip there ride, crush what's left with a tractor, sell that for scrap, and hope they can never even use there hands to beat their bird, sorry SOBs!

Ok now I'm better!
And my baby stays in the shop at my house not on my farm.

I've got pictures of the mess the made but my laptop isn't working.

The county cops said they were to busy, and state said anything we didn't want stolen to get itout. Now if I were to beat the hell out of one of these sobs, at a minimum I would be in deep with the law. We found one of the guys w2 forms and they said they couldn't do anything! Makes me want to get creativly violent!!!

thats one thing that i have figured out with this thing, that there are very few cheap mods and lots of expensive ones. you will find out soon enough its far from being like an LS1

Yeah, that's the one. I think it's for sound deadening. A lot of guys have removed it and Armor All'd the plastic and it looks better.
