FRONT RIGHT CALIPER LOCKED UP

f ...ing front right caliper locked up just a few mins ago was overheating and smoking.. pulled over , pulled the tire bled to loosen... seems ok now but think i warped rotor.. anyone else had this problem ??? should i fix or just replace the whole caliper and rotor ???

It could be a cocked caliper piston......how much meat is left on the pad...?

Happen to me on every dodge truck I have owned (Right side) except this one. But yeah more then likely the rotor is a little bit warped. How you been Gunu.

Same thing happened to me twice. Just have them turn the rotor down, if they can and replace the calliper. I have not had any problems since. or rebuild the calliper. They get all full of dirt and dust that dosen't come out unless you take them apart. Just my experiance.

I had the front calipers replaced because several of the pistons had siezed up. The mechanic told me that the pistons had a cheap plastic part in them that he thought was low quality considering this is supposed to be a high end truck. Lucky for me I got the extended warranty when I bought it. The calipers ran around $200ea. I also went with ceramic pads all the way around. No more cleaning the wheels every day.

thanks guys for all the help !!!! much appreciated..... been doing well devildawg ..... i do have an extended warranty so hopefully they can replace it... was thinking of going to slotted rotors also..
