Do these require rear caliper grinding still?
Not sure. I have never had these on my truck but if you are interested I could test fit them and let you know.
I do not think so.
they shouldn't require any shaving...

17" fit fine one the rear. 16" needs grinding and alot of it

Also, is there a cut in the tread on that one tire from something?
Yeah there is a weird cut in the tread, not too deep though. Not sure what it's from as I have never run the tires and it doesn't go all the way around. I can take some better pics of it as I didn't even notice it until I was rolling the tires back inside.
