Ah I remember that day too! Commercial plates and no parkways...Screw that I drove around every where with my commercial plates. And I think they were generous on the weight, 06 QC are huge fat pigs, and its a 1500 frame which differs from the 05's.

If it weighs 5600 Lbs with my light ass sitting in it I'm satisfied:D

Last time I weighed in, I was 6020 (2005 QC) with me in the truck and I weigh about 210. My 2004 hemi QC 4x4 was 5700 with me in it a couple of weeks ago.

Granted I have a few extra items on my truck and a bed cover.

It was said the they stiffened the 06's buy using a heavier duty frame from the eiter the 2500 or the 3500.

My understanding is that '04 and '05 SRT-10's were built on 2500 frames. The '06's were in fact built on 3500 frames, but in '06 DC went to fully hydroformed frames on Dodge trucks, which are stiffer but lighter. As a result, the '06's have much stiffer frames that weigh about the same as those on the '05 trucks, net net. However, I would guess other goodies like the factory tonneau add pounds. My fat a.. adds a lot of weight... :)

I read that somewhere too.

I think this is a little like dyno results. You would have to get an' 05 and an '06 on the same scale consecutively to get a good comparison. Calibration can vary.

There were not too many published numbers on the short lived run of '06 trucks but Forbes (usually a stickler on accuracy) reported a curb weight of 5694lb for the Quad Cab and 5003lb. for the Regular Cab. This compares to Car and Driver's 5618lb. for a 2005 QC and 5139lb. for a 2004 RC.

Again, these numbers are from two different sources but I doubt that the weights differ significantly between model years.

All I know is that my truck is "big boned" and really needs to go on a diet!
