If the price is good enough my FIL (Don) will probably want in too. I think his garage is roughly 850 sq ft.;)

I am looking for AFFORDABLE garage floor options. I would LOVE to do a Race Deck type flooring but it's just not pheaseable for me. My garage is over 1000 sq ft and I am NOT spending 4K to floor it.

I found some tiles at Sams Club that look ok and would run me about 2k but their color options are limited. Pretty much grey only. :dontknow:

I have thought about UCoatIt epoxy system or painting it but I am afraid any type of paint is going to peel up. My father in law did his garage floor with the Home Depot epoxy kit and it peeled up and looks like crap after just a couple of months. Now he has a mess to deal with to get it all cleaned up.:(

I am thinking real hard about using a concrete stain and just a good clear sealer over that. That would be the most cost effective and pretty easy to do. Any other floor covering options out there that I am missing? :dontknow:

I used the Rust-o-Leum (SP?) epoxy kit on mine (Home Depot), it's been there for 6 months or so and it looks like the day I put it down.

Got plans in the making for adding a 2 car garage seperate from the 3 car I already have. When it's done,I'm going to do ceramic tile in the 3 car attached to the house. No more work in it,the dirty work will go to the 2 car.Saws, yard tractor and the likes will all be out there too !!!Hopefully this will happen in the very near future,an Architect has a drawing now, just have to work out the details !!!

The epoxy stuff is pretty good and will be as hard as the concrete surface is the prep is right. I used the QuickCrete brand on mine and it looks great and really cleans up easy. Mine was on new concrete so it was easier then if you have to try and clean up old stuff.

I've done two houses(my own) with epoxy paint. both turned out awesome.
1st house I used muratic acid and etched, swept, rinsed, cleaned the heck outta the floors, even rented a floor buffer and used a sanding disc on it,before painting. That was a 4 bay garage and I painted the floor white, along with the walls and ceiling. when I was done you could work under a car without a droplight it was so bright in there.
In fact the garage was what sold the house.
The home i'm in now I used Phosphuric acid to clean the floor and painted with a grey epoxy. This stuff is indestructable I've welded, beat on and generally abused the floor and it still looks good with no chipping and pealing.
Going to repaint this spring just to freshen it up.
The paint I'm using is the same stuff the military paints their hanger floors with. I'll see If I can find a paint number for you

Here it is http://www.griggspaint.com/prod_info.php3?prodid=68
Its a water based epoxy so you can thin it out with water to spread it easier and if you add about a Pint of acetone to it just before rolling it down it'll have a ultra high gloss finish
