GAS tank swap?

I'm wanting to go to a custom gas tank to move the weight from the front drivers side to the back of the truck. custom tank with pump is over 1000.00 Do you guys think a salvage viper tank would work? I know its physically smaller and I assume all of the wiring, fittings and pump could work with the truck. What do you think?

Why not do a fuel cell?
