heys guys long time browser first time poster. just read the paddle shift thread and got to thinking. how bout a paddle shifter with a gear vendors unit on quad cab. I like the idea of being able to row 8 gears in my truck.

Welcome, good idea. Need to cut a new drive shaft too.

why not 10 ? :dontknow: ... QC's are so slow they can use it... :p :p :D :D :D

You are splitting the gears in half with 8. Keeps you way up in the power band.

Do you want to race at Pinks? :elefant:

I know the standard unit will handle the power. I briefly skimmed their site today at work. They have many diesel applications so I think they may have one for our trans. if you contact them, please post what they tell you.

I called them today. They can handle upwards of 1200hp, they will increase fuel mileage by 22%. Splitting of each gear is like a 50hp and 70tq gain but...$3295 and a price increase of $200 on every unit starting next week... Plus you have to pay someone to have your driveshaft shortened. I will really have to think hard about this one. I mean shoot how much is a Roe supercharger? We all know we like the power over the fuel mileage any way!

i only got 4 gears, wish i had 6 but my son makes the back seat a neccesity. the overdrive would be nice for fuel mileage, but who cares about that. I want to be in the power band all day and I'm sure my son would love it. he's 2 and when he gets in the truck and i'm cruisin to slow he yells GO!GO!GO!

I didnt call about the 6 speed because I have an auto. I actually have 2 buddies that have these units (on thier hot rod cars) and one noticed about 25% and the other was like a 21% gain. They have been on thier vehicles for about 8 years now with tons of miles and one of them is a mid 10 second 69 Camaro. Pretty impressive really. But the prices have went up so much since then. So on the auto yes it can be done. That double over turns the 4.56 into like a 2.46.
