gen 2- 3/4 ton truck question

looking at maybe buying an older gen 2 truck a 1999 3/4 ton with the 8.0 v-10 automatic ,,,can anyone tell me what the hp and what tran was in these

what exact tran would that be ,,and damn i thought hp would be a bit higher on that ,i was told by a goober it was a round 400 hp

Here are the engine specs. So 310HP and 450TQ There is a performance cam from Mopar out there for it that is supposed to give it 40 ft-lbs more torque and approx 45 more horsepower than the stock cam. That kit includes new lifters as well. We'll see soon how much power these Iron blocks can make! Oh yea they had the 47RE.

if your planing on towing something, this is the ticket!:rock: i tow a 7,000# boat on a tandem axle trailer. if it wasn't for my rear view mirrors i wouldn't know it was there.

what kind of mileage do these get ,,this one has a 355 rear end

with the 3.55 prob not all that good a mileage... especially if your gonna tow alot... my dads 3500 cumins had 3.55 5 spd and it hasd no granny type low... 1st is 1st and you better use it

and its an automatic,,and a 3.55 without a lot of towing should get good milage compared to many trucks that have a 3.92 in them now days

does it have the tow/haul mode? that will certainly help. mine has the 4:10 rear,but i have taller tires. i get nine to ten on the highway towing.:burnout:

My dad has one, 1995 2500 4x4 ext cab 8ft bed. Red. Baddass truck.. to this day with 200K+ of abusive driving since new has never had any major problems other than the tranny rebuilt at 100K before it started slipping bad.

very reliable truck, more so than my T/A
