Would someone that knows please tell me if there are any differences between the '04, 05, and 06 gen 3 blocks, heads, and cranks?? I've an '06 and instead of pulling my motor and building it up I want to buy a block, crank and heads to go with all of my forged internals so I can swap engines quickly and retain my original engine.

They moved the crank sensor in the 05-06, it reads off the crank. In 03-04 it reads off the flywheel

All 03-06 heads are the same, the blocks are different, 03 is unique but usable in 04 and vice versa, 03/04 cranks are interchangable, 05/06 cranks are interchangable. 05/06 car and RC viper truck blocks are interchangable. 05/06 QC blocks are interchangable.

Does that mean the QC blocks are different from the rest?

05-06's have knock sensors 04's do not. It may be different now but I was told in the past the one's without knock sensors are much easier to tune.

You can put an 05-06 motor in an 04' (I done it in my 04') but I'm not sure about putting an 04' engine in an 05-06:dontknow:

Thanks for the information. Does anyone know where to purchase a drop in sleeve for a '06 block that I'm interested in? I called the local Dodge parts counter and was told that they did not see a sleeve available??
