I was discussing this with another forum member and I just wanted to see if anyone has any input on this. The conversation went like this.....A major viper engine builder claims a 50-60 hp GAIN if you switch your intake manifold to the GEN II type. To me this sounds too good to be true, but ILL TAKE IT....if it is true. I just cant believe a major auto manufacturer like DC would go BACKWARDS on technology. Im lookin into it now and these GEN II manifolds are READILY available......Could be a great cheap mod! Just as a disclaimer....I think that horsepower gain was with some mods....but not tons of mods.

The hp numbers sound about right but it seems (I could be way off) to me that there was some major issues with the fit and finish of the gen 2 manifold

Maybe the guy from exotic engine can chime in here, as well as 1fast400 (or Roe). They have more involvement with GenIII intake manifold modifications.

Maybe DC Performance can also provide insight as they have a plethora of experience with Viper motors of all generations.

Sorry I can't provide any pertinent information Blake.

Boomer told me the Gen II is better, but we did not discuss how much better.

Bill.

Ive heard of this before....but dint understand how the fitting would happen without some serious mods..not sure though, never looked into it.

I asked Dan at DC perf before about the GEN II manifold. He said I would have to change too many things and it wouldn't be worth it.

I was going to use a gen II intake originally and mount 2 superchargers on it :). One on each side. Cut the top of it out and have each one work over 5cylinders.

Now there's a true hot rodder at heart right there!!:burnout: :burnout:
TWO superchargers...:D

Im asking if anyone knew of any info validating their statement.....cuz id like to pick up 60 hp for a few bucks...but if the fitment is a problem....then screw it

Lets just wait for Boomer to bring out his own intake with 10 individual throttle bodies....now that should help the thing breath and make some power!!!.. can you imagine the induction noise!

I've heard from Todd at Arrow and Jeff (JM Cylinder Heads) that the GENII intake flows substantially better. How much additional HP would depend on plenty of other stuff. I quit thinking about doing this because of all the other shit I'd have to deal with (injector wiring, fuel supply line, throttle cable connections). I'd rather throw a 100 shot on top of everything.:D

when i was going to do a jet boat with a v10 i was thinking of doing the 5 duces.
