George Ray's Drag Strip Paragould, AR

Sounds kinda slow. Were you spinning off the line? What was the Temp?

Has nothing to do with your post speedy but do you ever drive through Blytheville...??? Back to your question, been there too and had a very high 9 but all i did was spin through 1st and 2nd.....

Seldom bro but I could make an exception. Maybe we could meet at Paragould sometime? I'll pm you.

oh, I will. I went off the street, no preparation. I had all my therapy tool sin the truck, back end loaded with flea market stuff (better traction?). Next time I try a few things...
thanks

welp, I have a pretty stock truck except for a K&N intake and a magnaflow muffler, my reaction time probably sucked too. They wont let us take passengers.

Reaction time has nothing to do with E.T. My little ol hemi truck runs 8.6s and 7s in the 1/8th mile. Its quad cab too. My truck bone stock did 10.0-10.1.

I dont think so bro but, I could be wrong:dontknow:

Perry the point he is trying to make, without too much tact, is that your elapsed time starts as you break the front light beam...you can be very slow to react to the lights and it will cause you to lose the race but your elapsed time can still be pretty good.

Often you will see a lower elapsed time beaten by a higher elapsed time due to a slower reaction time in getting out of the lights.

So what would a normal time be for my q/c? Around 8 - 10??

Despite what our friend above says about his hemi...I think your QC as it is now should run in the mid to low 9's...if the track is decent, the temps arn't too high...and with the addition of a flashed pcm you should get into the 8's fairly easily.

There may be some more experienced 1/8th racers here...my experience on 1/8th mile tracks is very limited, so my guesses may be way off.

pcm

Waiting to do the PCM with the Roe as we discussed, the next project.
Thanks for the input Roy!

Your truck with the intake and the exhaust should do 9.0s. What was your 60 ft time? I know for a fact either you were spinning or you are at a high elevation. And yes that was the point I was trying to make I was just tired....lol You can sit there for ten minutes(if you do not brake the beams)and than you can take off and still get a fast time.

Let me tell 'ya about this place guys. It was started in a guys back yard. I was there when I was 5 and Im 48. They have 5 light bulbs for a tree, and if you arent careful youll miss em. There is no 60 ft times just a guy over the track that announces the 1/8 time which you cant hear mostly for the guys warming the tires. :motz: I'm gonna take a stop watch next time for someone to time me in case we cant hear the times. I did 3 runs. The first one the spousal unit said "I think he said 7", the second one was verified with a friend as 10.78, the last one was unhearable. I reviewed the video and you really couldnt hear it (no way). The last run was definately the best as I KNOW I got off the line well. The first one I spun tires for quite aways as you suggested. So, as my above post indicates I think my truck is whacky due to the guy cutting the muffler off. I am going to wait until I get the B&B exhaust system in before I go back.

Thanks,
Perry

i ran a 8.83 before cal tracs and a 8.60 with cal tracs in the 1/8th mile, couldve done better but the track started cooling off and was spinning more.this was with a stage 2 and bassani headers
