Okay,
Help me out here guys. What am I forgetting?

My truck should be going in (In-shallah) in next few days or week for a big cam, ported/polished heads, ported intake runners, gasket matching, ported throttle body and (of course) before/after dynos & tune by Joe Donovan at PBJ.

I already have the following:
T&D 1.7 roller rockers
Valve cover spacers
VEC 2
Cam
Hardened/oversized Pushrods
Upper gasket set
MSD wires
Royal Purple Oil/K&N filter
Mopar Coolant

* All of the head components/work is being handled by Joe.

I also will be getting a custom tray mount for the VEC 2 and my intake clearcoated by JMB Justin.

I plan to ask Joe to index the plugs and double check the crank bolt torque for me while the truck is in shop. We have also talked about decking the heads to up the compression to about 10:1.

Any other small things that I am not thinking of???

I would replace/upgrade the lifters since you are pulling the heads ;)
I have thought about that, but from what I have heard the OEM roller lifters are the best ones out there. And my truck only has 4K miles on it so the stockers aren't worn.:dontknow:

fill up the check book before you go pick it up.

:D You got that right. :p

id still swap out lifters with a new cam, just my opinion, for piece of mind while your in there.

Its always a good idea....

There have been reports that the stockers tend to float a little at 6000 and higher RPM's.

Agree that you dont have to swap them out.

I DO agree that replacing them now is WAY better than having to do them after the swap. :D

My power band will still be below 6000 rpms so I shouldn't have any floating issues (I hope). :p

Awesome bro best of luck with the build...can't wait to see what she's runnin after a lil tweakin!! :burnout:

give us some pics like Bone!! that would make my day! haha just messin' do

Pushrods, valve springs, or piston upgrades? Sounds like a good plan of attack though, best of luck with before/after numbers!

I already have the pushrods. Valves, springs, retainers, etc all being replaced with the head work. The whole lower assy is staying stock so piston will stay OEM.

I'll def put up the numbers.

RCs are slow no matter what u do :D

j/k good luck with the build

Yeah, WTF are you going to do about traction?:burnout: :dontknow:

And once you get traction, you'll probably need a new Clutch!!:D

Can't wait to hear how she runs afterwards!!

vec II upgraded to vec III
new plugs
power steerng fluid
While the intake is off , port match intake

uh new rear axle assembly:D

I will def be doing a new clutch. I already have it, just don't have it in yet. Gonna see what the stocker does with the extra ponies, hehehehe.

Joe likes the Vec 2. I may see about upgrading later. Joe will be tuning with a couple different spark plugs, to see which works best..so that's covered. Joe will be port matching the intake runners and gaskets.

Power Steering fluid  Fer whut?:dontknow:

When you pull the power steering pump off and let it hang while you swap out the cam ;)

Will lose a little fluid....

I also think this would be a great time to upgrade to the VEC III...Since he is checking the crank...why not go with the piston replacement...when our engine's let go the pistons seem to the be weak link...while at it I would seriously consider Diamond or something similar...just a thought...

Stinker should be putting the second round together on the new rear end...as soon as you replace your clutch, you will need to replace your spider gears...might as well go with the whole Stinker Detroit Locker...

On the serious side, if you do not have a drive shaft loop installed, now is the time!
