Global Warming Test...

I missed 2 of them too, #9 was one of them.

Here's my take on global warming. It is happening. It has happened before. It can have detrimental effects on man. It is a natural cycle. Man has contributed to the speed and the severity of the warming. No one knows how much or how little man has contributed to the warming, yet. It's a good idea to study the issue and identify ways to help alleviate the effects of man upon the warming, we owe that to our children. In this age of technology we should be able to resolve this without undue burden upon society.

One funny thing about all this is how much a lot of people bitch about emissions testing, mileage requirements, etc. because they believe that it will stymie high performance development. I believe that the exact opposite is actually true. If not for these things, our high performance vehicles would probably still be big inch, carberated, fuel guzzling dinosaurs. These are the things that pushed the research that can now develop real high horsepower monsters that still can get pretty good gas mileage for the most part. I would venture to say that it is probably indirectly responsible as well for the development of many other aspects of the vehicles we drive. Technology breeds technology.

Still, I'm going to miss the air cooled v-twin that has powered Harley for so long. Just as many others miss "old-school" cars. But truth be told, those new liquid cooled Harley's will blow away any air cooled motor, and will also be more dependable. Just like the newer cars.

i got them all right:) just answered what I thought the people that created the site would want me to answer to try to disprove global warming. Was a fun exercise. Some of their rants were funny, I loved the one about the doctor signing some petition that was sent to clinton. wish i could have signed it, but i'm not a doctor, i just play one on tv:D

i'm not going to rehash the whole global warming thing again. that was another thread and i've said all i'm going to say on this subject for now.

I think it is funny for anyone to think the climate will remain constant...in either direction. We still don't really know what causes climatic changes...science is stupid...everything is a theory. The theory that is valid today will be thrown out the door tomorrow, while one guy is ranting and raving about how he forecasted it.

This is exactly why I don't have kids...I am personally trying to burn a bigger whole in the ozone layer (if this theory is sound). That's why we have over 2,000 horsepower at our house...enjoy it. Tell Gore to get bent. Liberal puke. I am not in denial...I don't care.

Tell India and China to stop using natural resources like they are endless...leave us alone.

I would guess that you are not very familiar with science. A theory is accepted as fact as it is based upon hypotheses which has been proven. The word theory throws a lot of folks, it doesn't mean it's just a guess, that is actually a hypothesis.

And science certainly isn't stupid, without it you would probably not have made it to the age you are today, and you sure as hell wouldn't be living nearly as comfortable as you are now.

Religion has always been uncomfortable with science, because it explains things they would rather leave unexplained or disproves notions. Remember, folks used to get locked up for daring to say that the Earth revolved around the sun.

Hypothesis = educated guess...

Science has advanced our understanding of many things, but many are still theories waiting for some last bit of evidence so they might be proven.

Also it is a know fact that Al Gore created the Internet as well...:rofl:
